Role Overview
The Field Application Engineer will provide on-site and remote technical support for utility-scale BESS projects.
The role covers commissioning, grid connection, performance testing, troubleshooting, and after-sales technical support.
The position covers the UAE, Türkiye, Uzbekistan, and the wider Middle East region.
Key Responsibilities
- Support commissioning, grid connection, performance testing, troubleshooting, and operation of BESS equipment, including battery systems, PCS, BMS, and EMS.
- Lead or support on-site electrical commissioning and system integration during grid-connection activities.
- Diagnose complex field issues and coordinate with R&D, Engineering, and Quality teams on root-cause analysis and resolution.
- Support customers, local service partners, and internal service teams to maintain system availability and operational performance.
- Understand regional power-system requirements and translate field and customer feedback into product and system improvement actions.
- Prepare and maintain commissioning procedures, test reports, troubleshooting guides, O&M documentation, and technical SOPs.
- Train and technically support local service partners.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Instrumentation, Automation, or a related field is required.
- At least 3–5 years of commissioning, grid-connection, or performance-testing experience in large-scale BESS, solar, or other renewable energy projects is required.
- Strong understanding of BESS architecture and BMS protection and control logic is required.
- Hands-on experience with PCS/BMS commissioning and power-plant grid-connection processes is required.
- Strong troubleshooting and technical documentation capabilities are required.
- Fluent English is required.
- Additional regional languages are a plus.
- Willingness to travel extensively or be based in the region is required.
