Estimation Engineer for Earthworks & Infrastructure

Role Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates, BOQs, and tender documentation for construction projects.
• Review drawings, specifications, and project requirements to understand project scope and deliverables.
• Conduct quantity take-offs for excavation, cut and fill, backfilling, grading, roadworks, and infrastructure activities.
• Request, obtain, and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and operations teams throughout the tendering process.
• Attend site visits when required to assess existing conditions and support accurate estimation.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and contribute to value engineering proposals.
• Maintain accurate estimation records, tender documentation, and supporting calculations.
• Assist with project handover after award by transferring estimation information to the project team.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in estimation, preferably in contracting, earthworks, infrastructure, or road construction.
• Strong knowledge of quantity take-offs, cost estimation, BOQ preparation, and tendering procedures.
• Practical experience estimating excavation, cut and fill, grading, backfilling, and site development works.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, and estimation or tendering software.
• Strong analytical, numerical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet tender deadlines effectively.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous UAE construction industry experience is preferred.
• Experience with infrastructure, roadworks, earthworks, and site development projects is preferred.
• Familiarity with UAE construction standards, market rates, suppliers, and local tendering practices is preferred.
• Immediate availability is highly preferred.
