The Environmental Services Manager will lead environmental management, compliance, monitoring, sustainability initiatives, waste programs, and environmental services.
The role provides technical and operational leadership to identify, control, monitor, and continuously improve environmental risks.
Location and work arrangement
- The role is based in the United Arab Emirates and is fully remote.
Environmental management
- Develop and implement environmental management strategies aligned with organizational objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Lead environmental services across construction projects, facilities, industrial operations, infrastructure, and other business activities.
- Establish environmental policies, procedures, standards, guidelines, and management systems.
- Identify environmental risks and develop mitigation and monitoring strategies.
- Manage environmental impact assessments, environmental studies, surveys, and compliance programs.
- Coordinate environmental baseline assessments and monitoring activities.
- Oversee monitoring of air quality, water quality, soil, noise, emissions, waste, biodiversity, and other environmental indicators.
- Review environmental monitoring data and identify trends, deviations, risks, and improvement opportunities.
Compliance and incident response
- Ensure compliance with environmental permits, licenses, approvals, consent conditions, and regulatory obligations.
- Maintain registers of environmental permits, commitments, reporting requirements, and compliance deadlines.
- Coordinate regulatory submissions, environmental reports, permit applications, inspections, and audits.
- Lead investigations into environmental incidents, non-compliance events, complaints, spills, emissions, contamination, and other environmental issues.
Waste and external services
- Develop and implement waste-management strategies covering collection, segregation, storage, transportation, treatment, recycling, recovery, and disposal.
- Manage environmental consultants, laboratories, waste contractors, specialist service providers, and other external partners.
- Monitor contractor environmental performance, compliance, safety, documentation, and service quality.
- Coordinate procurement of environmental services, monitoring programs, laboratory testing, waste-management services, and specialist consultancy.
Requirements
- Experience in environmental management, compliance, monitoring, sustainability, waste programs, and environmental services.
- Ability to provide technical and operational leadership for environmental risks, obligations, and continuous improvement.
- Experience coordinating internal teams, consultants, contractors, laboratories, regulators, and other stakeholders.
- Knowledge of environmental permits, licenses, approvals, consent conditions, reporting requirements, and regulatory obligations.
- Experience managing environmental monitoring, impact assessments, studies, surveys, and compliance programs.
