About the Role

Responsibilities
- Support the integration and operation of telecommunication systems used within AMI metering solutions
- Maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot telecommunication equipment used for meter data transmission
- Ensure communication links between field meters and head end systems remain fully operational
- Prepare comprehensive reports on telecom failures, connectivity issues, and illegal tampering cases
- Prepare and submit accurate daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports
- Coordinate with stakeholders to proactively resolve telecom related issues
- Manage end to end lifecycle of telecom related CWRs and requests
- Assist in setup, configuration, and optimization of AMI communication networks
- Provide advanced technical support for telecommunication related issues
- Support performance evaluation and improvement of RF Mesh, GPRS, PLC, LTE, and NB IoT networks
- Ensure compliance with corporate ISO, risk management, and Health & Safety requirements
- Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and field teams
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Telecommunications, Electronics Engineering, or a related field
- Certification in AMI Communication Systems (NB IoT, RF Mesh, PLC, LTE or equivalent)
- Minimum 13+ years of relevant experience in telecommunication systems or metering technologies
- Strong understanding of AMI communication networks and protocols
- Advanced troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Familiarity with smart metering communication standards and technologies
- Strong analytical, reporting, and coordination skills
- Good communication and teamwork abilities
- Written and Spoken English is essential

Job Purpose
- The role holder is responsible for supporting, maintaining, and optimizing telecommunication systems used for metering and AMI applications. The role ensures reliable communication between meters and central systems, supporting data integrity, availability, and system performance.
Core Responsibilities
- Supports the integration and operation of telecommunication systems used within AMI metering solutions.
- Maintains, monitors, and troubleshoots telecommunication equipment used for meter data transmission.
- Ensures communication links between field meters and head end systems remain fully operational.
- Prepare comprehensive reports on telecom failures, connectivity issues, and illegal tampering cases, including root cause analysis and recommended corrective actions.
- Prepare and submit accurate daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports detailing resource deployment, work status, and issues in accordance with contract requirements.
- Coordinate with stakeholders including COMPANY teams, customers, subContractors, suppliers, service providers, and OEMs to proactively resolve telecom related issues from initiation to closure.
- Manage the end to end lifecycle of telecom related CWRs and requests, including registration, assignment, execution, closure, and documentation in COMPANY systems.
- Assists in the setup, configuration, and optimization of AMI communication networks.
- Provides advanced technical support for telecommunication related issues during installation, commissioning, and repairs.
- Supports performance evaluation and improvement of RF Mesh, GPRS, PLC, LTE, and NB IoT networks.
- Ensures compliance with corporate ISO, risk management, and Health & Safety requirements.
- Provides technical guidance to junior engineers and field teams.
Education, Experience & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Telecommunications, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
- Certification in AMI Communication Systems (NB IoT, RF Mesh, PLC, LTE or equivalent) required.
- Minimum 13+ years of relevant experience in telecommunication systems or metering technologies.
- Strong understanding of AMI communication networks and protocols.
- Advanced troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Familiarity with smart metering communication standards and technologies.
- Strong analytical, reporting, and coordination skills.
