About the Role

Responsibilities
- Plan and supervise maintenance activities of instrument & control systems (DCS, ESD, F&G, QMI)
- Coordinate maintenance with operations and other teams to ensure reliable functioning
- Design, develop, and execute projects under Management of Change (MOC)
- Provide operational, technical, and engineering support in Optimization, Alarm Management, and OT Security
- Execute automation system firmware & software revisions and upgrades

- Review and approve engineering design activities for Industrial IT, Networking, and SCADA Systems
Requirements
- Bachelor Degree in Instrumentation and Control or Electronics discipline or equivalent
- 6 years of experience in Instrument and Control engineering and maintenance in a large industrial organization, preferably Oil and Gas
- Good knowledge of HSE in a plant environment
- Strong knowledge of DCS, ESD, F&G, QMI systems
- Knowledge of networking and cyber security
- Background in EPC in Oil and Gas Industry
- Experience with Industrial Control System Cyber Security Implementation

Job Purpose
- Plan and supervise maintenance activities of a wide range of instrument & control systems in the plant and coordinate with operations and other maintenance teams.
- Design, develop, and execute projects under site management of change (MOC).
- Raise awareness on ICS, DCS, ESD, F&G, QMI, and OT security.
- Analyse and coordinate Automation Systems Installations through higher level applications.
- Provide operational, technical and engineering support in Optimization, Alarm Management, and OT Security.
Maintenance Planning, Execution and Expertise
- Provide maintenance support for Automation systems (DCS, ESD, F&G, QMI) to achieve 100% plant reliability.
- Support operations and maintenance teams for equipment testing, troubleshooting, surveillance and start up.
- Implement Management of Change (MOC) for Automation systems.
- Monitor manpower and service contract for F&G, QMI, ESD and DCS.
- Execute Automation system firmware & software revisions and upgrades.
- Identify opportunities to improve performance of DCS, ESD, F&G and QMI.
- Support BMS requirements and participate in internal and external audits.
- Provide technical support for critical maintenance activities to minimize downtime.
- Monitor engineering design activities by consultants, FEED engineers and EPC contractors for Industrial IT, Networking, SCADA Systems.
- Review bidder's lists and bid documents for Industrial IT equipment.
- Monitor and control required material, spares, consumables and tools.
- Conduct root cause analysis of equipment failures and non scheduled shutdowns.
Control Systems
- Plan, supervise, coordinate and execute all activities in assigned area.
- Troubleshoot DCS, ESD, F&G, QMI hardware and software anomalies.
- Evaluate system architecture and analyse hardware integrity.
- Contribute to developing technical specification documents for ICS, ESD, F&G, QMI systems.
- Support new control system projects and ensure reliable design.
- Follow up with DCS vendors (ABB, Siemens, Yokogawa, Honeywell) on resolving problems.
- Coordinate usage of Real time Systems and Alarm Management Systems.
- Develop scope, tendering, award and renewal of ICS/DCS/ESD/F&G/QMI maintenance support service agreements.
- Assist Sr. Engineer in study/implementation activities related to ICS and Alarm Management.
- Develop DCS maintenance procedures and reliability maintenance strategies.
- Support in preparing work and instructional procedures and Business Continuity Management procedures.
- Review and analyse System Diagnostic reports and make action plans.
OT Cyber Security
- Support execution of OT security activities for automation and maintenance of OS, application software, backups, network/AV policies.
- Ensure implementation of OT Security policies and maintain compliance.
- Support and follow OT security related documentation such as policies, procedures, guidelines, disaster recovery.
- Provide support to OT security audits and risk assessment implemented by third party consultants.
- Support projects by reviewing execution strategies related to OT security requirements.
- Assist in implementation of approved OT Security Projects.
- Implement NESA controls for OT security events and review implemented controls.
- Support senior/OT engineer during FAT & SAT and ensure OT security requirements are adhered to.
Minimum Qualification
- Bachelor Degree in Instrumentation and Control or Electronics discipline or equivalent Professional Qualification.
Minimum Experience, Knowledge & Skills
- 6 years of experience in Instrument and Control engineering and maintenance with full knowledge of HSE in a plant environment within a large industrial organization, preferably Oil and Gas.
- Good knowledge in development, reviews and execution of automation engineering related technical standards and procedures for oil and gas industry.
- Strong knowledge about automation design engineering tools/software and automation systems such as DCS, ESD, F&G and QMI and basic knowledge about Networking and cyber security.
- Knowledge of latest technological developments and their implications on the business.
- Background in EPC in the Oil and Gas Industry.
- Extensive knowledge of guidelines and specifications for automation in the FEED phase.
- Good knowledge of HSE principles relevant to Oil & Gas Industry.
- Sound technical knowledge on Microsoft Windows operating systems, Routers, Switches, Firewalls etc.
- Experience in working with any Industrial control system network switches and gateways.
- Experience in Industrial Control System Cyber Security Implementation and Enhancement projects.
- Experience in installation and maintenance of security products such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, anti virus, application whitelisting, VPN, SIEM, and OS Patch Management (Microsoft WSUS).
- Strong verbal/written communication skills, analytical and troubleshooting skills, ability to work in fast paced environment.
