Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate employment related agreements (employment contracts, settlement agreements, consultancy agreements, secondment and assignment agreements)
- Advise on the full employee lifecycle, including hiring, performance management, disciplinary processes, grievances, and terminations
- Support restructuring, redundancy, and workforce reorganisation matters
- Advise on UAE labour law compliance, including DIFC, ADGM, and mainland/free zone employment frameworks
- Manage employment related disputes, tribunal/court processes, and pre litigation risk
- Advise on policies, handbooks, visa and immigration matters tied to employment, and HR related regulatory requirements
- Manage legal risk, red flag issues, and provide pragmatic, business focused solutions
- Operate confidently within fast paced, in house environments
Requirements
- Minimum of 5+ years PQE
- Strong familiarity with UAE employment law, including mainland and free zone frameworks (DIFC/ADGM experience a plus)
- Background spanning both private practice and in house, ideally with direct exposure to HR teams, multinational employers, or regulated industries
- Adaptability, pragmatism, and ability to work independently and collaboratively

Role Overview
- We are growing our team in Abu Dhabi and are particularly interested in lawyers who bring strong experience in employment law across private practice and within established organizations.
- As a consultant on our team, you will have access to a growing portfolio of secondment opportunities embedded directly within client organisations, functioning as a genuine extension of their in house legal teams, on your terms.
- Secondments vary in length, sector, legal discipline, and working arrangement.
What you'll be doing

- A background that spans both private practice and in house, ideally with direct exposure to HR teams, multinational employers, or regulated industries
- Adaptability, pragmatism, and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
