Responsibilities
- Provide expert electrical engineering support across all phases including design review, commissioning, start up, troubleshooting, and failure analysis
- Review and validate engineering deliverables to ensure alignment with operational requirements and company standards
- Support high risk and complex commissioning activities by optimizing system performance and ensuring readiness for operations
- Provide technical advice to cross functional teams and contribute to multidisciplinary problem solving
- Support EPC project execution and ensure seamless coordination between project and operational teams
- Facilitate project tie ins and ensure safe, efficient integration of new systems into existing facilities
- Participate in engineering and operational readiness reviews, identifying risks and recommending mitigation strategies
- Maintain an Issue Register to track, escalate, and resolve critical technical challenges
- Develop and implement surveillance programs for critical electrical systems to ensure high reliability, availability, and cybersecurity compliance
- Recommend and implement continuous improvement initiatives and best practices
- Assess new technologies and ensure associated risks are properly mitigated prior to implementation
- Supervise and coordinate activities of contractors, consultants, and service providers
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
- Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in oil & gas or energy sector
- Demonstrated expertise in electrical systems within major EPC and operational environments
- Proven experience in commissioning, start up, and troubleshooting large scale industrial projects
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems design, operation, and maintenance
- Experience with reliability engineering, system surveillance, and performance optimization
- Familiarity with industry standards, engineering tools, and technical software

Job Purpose
- The Electrical Engineering Specialist provides technical expertise and guidance throughout the EPC and start up phases of projects, ensuring a smooth transition to operations.
- The role ensures that all electrical engineering deliverables meet the highest standards of safety, operability, reliability, and maintainability across the facility lifecycle.
- This position acts as a key advisor to project teams, influencing design and execution decisions while balancing both capital (CAPEX) and operational (OPEX) considerations.
