Responsibilities
- Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and maintenance for drilling equipment including Top Drive, Draw works, mud pumps, Iron Roughneck, hoisting equipment, rotary systems & Pipe racking system, Power slips, handling tools.
- Conduct on site service visits, inspections, and repairs at drilling locations.
- Read hydraulic and mechanical drawings for drilling equipment and familiarity with AC/DC driven equipment.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely service delivery and resolution of technical issues.
- Prepare and submit detailed reports identifying all work conducted and hours worked for site work undertaken.
- Prepare internal reports from site observations to allow continual improvement of quality system and procedures.
- Generate procedures for inspection, testing, installations, pre commissioning, commissioning, service and maintenance of equipment.
- Ensure all documentation related to work performed is filed for future access.
- Responsible for office based activities as necessary, including preparation of spare parts lists.
Requirements
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Proven experience in servicing and repair of drilling equipment (e.g., mud pumps, top drives, Drawworks, Iron Roughneck, hoisting equipment, Power slips, Pipe racking systems)
- Experience with BOMCO, HH, NOV, Canrig or other major drilling equipment brands
- Knowledge of oilfield drilling operations
- Prior experience working in the Gulf region with the OEM
- Ability to work long hours and stay in the field for extended periods
- Willingness to travel frequently worldwide for service
- Ability to work independently and under pressure
