About the Role
HCLTech is seeking a Disaster Recovery Administrator to ensure end-to-end DR readiness across infrastructure, applications, network, and data center environments. The role involves planning, executing, and governing DR strategies, including annual drills and automation initiatives.

Responsibilities
- Support the IT Disaster Recovery Plan and ensure annual updates in alignment with audit, compliance, and business continuity requirements
- Participate in defining DR strategy, scope, and execution models for planned DR activities
- Ensure DR plans align with infrastructure, applications, and regulatory expectations
- Support and execute DR drills including failover and failback activities across all IT towers
- Validate RTO/RPO achievement during drills and provide post execution analysis
- Coordinate with cross functional teams and act as the central coordination point during DR planning and execution
- Maintain and update Disaster Recovery Runbooks with accurate recovery procedures
- Drive and support DR automation initiatives to improve execution efficiency
- Plan and support tabletop sessions with IT stakeholders for DR readiness validation
- Document DR drill incidents, observations, and deviations during execution; track issues to closure
Requirements
- Strong understanding of Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity concepts
- Strong understanding of Infrastructure (Unix, Windows, Storage, Backup)
- Strong understanding of Network architecture and failover mechanisms
- Strong understanding of Data center operations and replication technologies
- Knowledge of RTO/RPO, replication strategies, DR orchestration
- Knowledge of Application dependencies and tiering models
- Experience in DR drills execution (planned and unplanned)
- Experience in Runbook creation and management
- Experience in Incident management and RCA
- Experience in cross team coordination in large enterprise environments
- Strong stakeholder management and coordination skills
- Excellent documentation and communication ability

Role Overview
- The Disaster Recovery (DR) Administrator is responsible for ensuring end to end disaster recovery readiness across infrastructure, applications, network, and data center environments.
- The role focuses on planning, execution, governance, and continuous improvement of DR strategies, ensuring zero service disruption and strict adherence to SLA, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- DR Planning & Governance: Support the IT Disaster Recovery Plan and ensure annual updates; participate in defining DR strategy; ensure DR plans align with infrastructure, applications, and regulatory expectations.
- DR Execution: Support and execute DR drills including failover and failback activities; validate RTO/RPO achievement; coordinate with cross functional teams.
- Documentation & Compliance: Maintain and update Disaster Recovery Runbooks; ensure all DR documentation is audit ready; maintain DR documentation for compliance (ISO, audit, regulatory).
- Automation & Improvement: Drive and support DR automation initiatives; identify improvement opportunities in DR processes, tools, and execution frameworks.
- Tabletop & Preparedness: Plan and support tabletop sessions; ensure preparedness across all teams before actual DR drills.
- Incident Management: Document DR drill incidents, observations, and deviations; track issues to closure; maintain DR risk register.
Required Skills & Experience
