About the Role
HCLTech is seeking a Senior Oracle DBA / Database Architect with 10-15+ years of experience for a banking domain role in Dubai. The role requires expertise in Oracle 19c/21c, RAC, ASM, Data Guard, and performance tuning, with strong banking domain experience preferred.

Responsibilities
- Manage large scale Oracle database environments in the Banking or Financial Services sector
- Perform database installation, upgrades, patching, migrations
- Manage Backup & Recovery and Disaster Recovery (DR) planning and execution
- Provide production support in large enterprise environments
- Conduct performance tuning using AWR, ASH, ADDM, SQL Execution Plans, etc.
- Support ETL intensive databases and data ingestion pipelines
- Lead database migration projects, Oracle version upgrades, DR drills, and Disaster Recovery implementations
- Collaborate with Application, Infrastructure, Storage, Network, Cloud Teams, and Oracle Support/Vendors
Requirements
- 10–15+ years of Oracle DBA experience on Linux platforms
- Strong hands on expertise in Oracle 19c / 21c, RAC, ASM, Data Guard, RMAN, Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM), Multitenant Architecture (CDB/PDB)
- Hands on expertise in AWR Reports, ASH Analysis, ADDM, SQL Execution Plans, Optimizer Statistics, Wait Event Analysis, Oracle Database Performance Tuning
- Experience supporting ETL intensive databases and understanding of ETL workflows, data ingestion pipelines, Operational Data Store (ODS) databases
- Linux Administration, HugePages, NUMA Architecture, Storage Performance, VMware / OLVM, Infrastructure level performance troubleshooting
- Shell Scripting and Python Scripting for database automation
- Experience in Banking or Financial Services sector supporting Core Banking Systems, Payment Platforms, Treasury Applications, Regulatory & Compliance sensitive environments

Role Overview
- We are looking for a Senior Oracle DBA / Database Architect with 10–15+ years of experience in managing large scale Oracle database environments, preferably within the Banking or Financial Services sector.
Mandatory Skills (Must Have)
- Oracle Database Expertise: Oracle 19c / 21c, RAC, ASM, Data Guard, RMAN, Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM), Multitenant Architecture (CDB/PDB)
- Database Operations: installation, upgrades, patching, migrations, Backup & Recovery, Disaster Recovery, production support
- Performance Tuning: AWR Reports, ASH Analysis, ADDM, SQL Execution Plans, Optimizer Statistics, Wait Event Analysis
- ETL & ODS Database Support: experience supporting ETL intensive databases, understanding of ETL workflows, data ingestion pipelines, Operational Data Store (ODS) databases
- Linux & Infrastructure Knowledge: Linux Administration, HugePages, NUMA Architecture, Storage Performance, VMware / OLVM, Infrastructure level performance troubleshooting
- Automation & Scripting: Shell Scripting, Python Scripting, database automation and operational efficiency initiatives
Banking Domain Requirements (Highly Preferred)
- Experience supporting Core Banking Systems, Payment Platforms, Treasury Applications, Regulatory & Compliance sensitive environments, High Availability and 24x7 Banking Operations, Large production Oracle environments with strict SLA requirements.
Cloud & Modern Database Skills (Preferred)
- Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), OCI DBCS, AWS RDS, Cloud native database administration
- Added Advantage: Oracle Exadata, Oracle GoldenGate, Hybrid Cloud Database Deployments
Secondary Skills (Good to Have)
- MySQL Administration, PostgreSQL Administration, Open source database architecture and support.
