The Position
The Digital Portfolio Advisor is a digital product expert and works closely with customers to understand their digital vision and strategy, translating these into actionable solutions that align with Panasonic’s digital offering.
This role ensures that client needs are properly understood and addressed—not just as requested, but as truly required to achieve their business goals.
This role is critical for connecting our product vision with the real-world needs of our clients, ensuring our solutions not only meet requirements but also drive lasting digital success.
The ideal candidate excels at listening, can respectfully challenge customer assumptions, and digs beneath surface requirements to uncover root use cases and optimal solutions.
Customer Engagement & Partnership
- Act as a trusted advisor to customers, engaging in consultative discussions to assess their digital goals, challenges, and desired outcomes.
- Ensures accuracy and consistency in key sales systems (Salesforce, C360, future and former Oracle Sales platform as needed) and sales processes, additionally provides leadership and coaching for implementation of such processes within their region.
- Identifies and achieves improvements in effectiveness and efficiency in the above regional sales process and procedures activities.
- Facilitate customer workshops to present the PAC digital suite and gather information about customer requirements, while also proactively distilling valuable insights from a variety of other sources—including reviewing RFPs and related documentation—to ensure a comprehensive understanding of customer needs.
- Challenge and validate customer requests constructively, probing beyond initial statements to uncover underlying business drivers, trends and use cases.
- Collaborate and tied very closely to the product team, serving as a sort of “proxy product person” within the sales team, as needed.
Sales Recommendations
- Work closely with Regional Sales (Digital) to translate recommendations into commercial offerings
- Collaborate with internal product, business unit, and sales teams to design solutions that meet or exceed customer expectations, leveraging the full capabilities of the product suite.
- Collaborate with the PAC Digital PLM team to gain a comprehensive understanding of the current product portfolio, as well as the strategy, vision, and roadmap for the complete suite of products
- Technical Analysis, Documentation, and Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Analyze, distill, and document customer input into clear digital requirements and develop robust solutions tailored to their objectives, working closely with the regional sales manager for digital solutions.
- Present complex technical concepts and solution proposals to both technical and non-technical stakeholders in a clear, accessible manner.
- Guide and support customers through digital transformation initiatives, from vision and capability mapping to delivery oversight.
- Foster continuous collaboration with Product Line Managers and CSO to relay insights from customer engagements, enabling the pragmatic validation and evolution of new features inspired by partner airline discussions.
- Remain up to date on digital trends, market advancements, and competitor strategies to inform solution design and promote cutting-edge product adoption.
- Act as a subject matter expert to inform and upskill the wider sales organization on enhancements and changes within the PAC digital suite, ensuring alignment and broad-based understanding across the team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business, or commensurate work experience.
- 7-10 years’ experience working within a sales and/or marketing environment, preferably in a customer-facing role.
- 1-2 years’ experience in process improvement methodologies.
- Prior supervisory experience preferred.
- Technical understanding of digital products for aviation.
- Strong knowledge of aviation or related industry.
- Exceptional listening, communication, and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to simplify complex topics for diverse audiences.
- Strong ability to empathize with customers while also constructively challenging their assumptions to deliver value-driven solutions.
- Excellent negotiation and presentation skills.
- Ability to speak with individuals from different and various social, cultural, economic, and educational backgrounds.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, decision-making, and multitasking ability to respond to common inquiries or requests from customers in a professional and timely manner.
- Ability to develop and maintain excellent working relationships with customers and internal stakeholders to smoothly and effectively address customer needs.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Resolves a wide range of issues in imaginative as well as practical ways.
- Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evolution if identifiable factors.
- Demonstrates good judgement in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
