Role overview

Lead day-to-day management and coordination of landscape and public-realm design from early concept through detailed and IFC delivery.

Ensure design excellence, commercial control, interdisciplinary integration, and compliance with approved time, fee, and quality parameters.

Design management and leadership

  • Monitor fee utilisation, scope changes, and change-control processes.
  • Prepare resource and deliverable schedules with the Head of Department and Project Managers.
  • Contribute to sub-consultant procurement, scope definition, and technical performance assessment.
  • Lead, mentor, and motivate multidisciplinary Landscape, Irrigation, BIM, Visualisation, CAD, and Environmental specialists.
  • Implement QA/QC and peer-review procedures at every design gateway.
  • Coordinate civil, MEP, and infrastructure requirements.
  • Ensure sustainability, accessibility, and safety-in-design principles are incorporated.
  • Delegate tasks, monitor progress, manage risks, and report proactively.
  • Ensure compliance with internal QMS and ISO 9001 processes.
  • Represent the landscape discipline in client and consultant meetings.
  • Contribute to proposals, including scope, methodology, management plans, deliverables, and budgets.
  • Maintain meeting minutes, design-change logs, coordination trackers, and risk registers.

Design and technical expertise

  • Oversee design delivery plans, reports, drawings, hardscape and softscape packages, irrigation and grading plans, planting strategies, sustainability narratives, and material schedules.
  • Ensure constructability and environmental performance when addressing complex technical challenges.
  • Ensure tender and IFC documentation aligns with RCRC, MOMRA, SBC, DM, and other authority standards.
  • Lead BIM integration using Revit LA, Civil 3D, and Navisworks, ensuring model accuracy, coordination, and LOD compliance.
  • Review sub-consultant deliverables and coordinate with Architecture, Structure, MEP, Infrastructure, and ID teams.
  • Work with quantity surveyors and specification writers on landscape specifications, BOQs, and cost schedules.
  • Contribute to value engineering, tender evaluation, and site support.
  • Champion innovation in digital design, visualisation, and sustainable materials.

Communication and department operations

  • Lead client presentations, design workshops, and coordination reviews.
  • Translate complex technical data into clear visual and verbal narratives.
  • Develop relationships with clients, partners, and authorities while supporting client satisfaction.
  • Report weekly to management on schedules, deliverables, and resource allocation.
  • Work with Project Managers on programme tracking and risk reporting.
  • Support internal standards, templates, digital workflows, QA reviews, and knowledge-sharing sessions.
  • Mentor team members and contribute to the Landscape Skills Framework through CPD and feedback.
  • Take ownership and accountability for assigned projects.

Qualifications and experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture from a recognised university is required.
  • Minimum 15 years of total experience, including at least 3 years in design management within the GCC.
  • Comprehensive understanding of landscape design principles, construction techniques, and regional authority codes.
  • Demonstrated success managing large-scale public-realm projects.
  • Proficiency in Revit LA, Civil 3D, AutoCAD, Navisworks, Microsoft Project, and BIM 360.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage budgets, prioritise workloads, and deliver under pressure.
  • Professional accreditation or eligibility such as CMLI, ASLA, or equivalent is preferred.
  • Fluent written and spoken English is required, with Arabic applicable where needed.
