Job Description

  • A Demi Chef de Partie (Pastry) at Waldorf Astoria Dubai International Financial Centre, a Forbes Five Star luxury hotel, is responsible for preparing and presenting high quality dishes with precision and consistency, contributing to an exceptional dining experience in line with Waldorf Astoria Brand
  • This role supports the efficiency of kitchen operations, upholds the highest standards of food safety and hygiene, and contributes to effective cost control and overall culinary excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and present dishes in accordance with established recipes, quality standards, and presentation guidelines.
  • Ensure all mise en place is prepared efficiently to support seamless service operations.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, adhering strictly to food hygiene and safety standards.
  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and labeling of all food items in line with food safety regulations.
  • Assist in addressing guest queries and special requests in a professional and timely manner.
  • Support cost control initiatives and contribute to achieving departmental financial targets.
  • Maintain awareness of departmental objectives and actively contribute to team performance.
  • Report maintenance, hygiene, or safety concerns promptly to the appropriate supervisor.
  • Foster strong working relationships across departments to support overall hotel operations.
  • Comply with all hotel policies, including security, fire, health & safety, and food safety regulations.
  • Support sustainability initiatives and demonstrate environmental awareness in daily operations.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in similar role
  • Positive attitude
  • Very good communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to work on own or in teams
  • NVQ Level 2
  • Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
  • NVQ Level 3 (preferred)
  • Previous kitchen experience in a luxury environment (preferred)
