- Install, configure, upgrade, patch, migrate, and administer enterprise databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, MySQL/MariaDB, SQL Server)
- Manage day to day database operations ensuring stability and availability
- Design and maintain high availability and disaster recovery solutions
- Configure replication, failover, switchover, backup, and restore mechanisms
- Own backup and recovery strategy execution using pgBackRest and native tools
- Monitor and optimize database performance through query tuning, indexing, and capacity planning
- Troubleshoot production issues and improve database efficiency
- Implement and maintain database security controls (encryption, access controls, auditing)
- Collaborate with infrastructure, application, and operations teams
- Automate database administration tasks using Shell/Bash, Python, Ansible, Terraform, Git, CI/CD
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in database management
- Hands on experience with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, MySQL/MariaDB, SQL Server
- Experience with HA/DR solutions (Patroni, pgbouncer, HAProxy, MongoDB Replica Sets, Galera Cluster)
- Knowledge of backup and recovery tools (pgBackRest, native tools)
- Database performance tuning and optimization skills
- Database security implementation (encryption, TLS/SSL, access controls)
- Automation skills: Shell/Bash, Python, Ansible, Terraform, Git, CI/CD
- Fluency in Arabic and English
- Saudi nationality preferred

What We Need
- Oivan is looking for a Saudi Database Administrator with at least three years of experience in database management using PostgreSQL, Patroni, pgbouncer, HAProxy, MongoDB.
- The role requires on site work at the customer's premises in Riyadh, KSA, and fluency in both Arabic and English.
- Preference is given to Saudi nationals.
What You'll Do
- Install, configure, upgrade, patch, migrate, and administer enterprise databases across multiple platforms including PostgreSQL, MongoDB, MySQL/MariaDB, and SQL Server.
- Manage day to day database operations and ensure database platforms are stable, available, and production ready.
- Design, implement, and maintain high availability and disaster recovery solutions for database platforms.
- Configure and support replication, failover, switchover, backup, and restore mechanisms to minimize downtime and data loss.
- Own backup and recovery strategy execution using tools such as pgBackRest for PostgreSQL and native database backup tools.
- Monitor and optimize database performance through query tuning, indexing, execution plan analysis, monitoring, and capacity planning.
- Troubleshoot production issues, identify bottlenecks, and improve database efficiency and scalability.
- Implement and maintain database security controls, including encryption at rest and in transit, TLS/SSL, access controls, user/role management, auditing, and hardening.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, application, and operations teams on migrations, deployments, troubleshooting, and production support.
- Automate database administration and operational tasks using Shell/Bash, Python, Ansible, Terraform, Git/GitHub, and CI/CD pipelines.
What You Have
- Hands on experience in database installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, migration, and administration.
- Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL Patroni, pgbouncer, HAProxy, MongoDB Replica Sets, MySQL Galera Cluster, and SQL Server Always On Availability Groups.
- Experience with High Availability (HA), Disaster Recovery (DR), replication, failover, and backup & recovery strategies.
- Expertise in database performance tuning, query optimization, indexing, monitoring, capacity planning, and troubleshooting.
- Strong experience in Database Security, Data Encryption (TDE, TLS/SSL, encryption at rest/in transit), user and role management, access controls, auditing, and security hardening.
- Automation Skills: Shell/Bash, Python, PowerShell, Ansible, Terraform, Git/GitHub, and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps).
- Experience with Windows and Linux administration, database monitoring tools, and enterprise operational best practices.
- Good communication, analytical, troubleshooting, and problem solving skills.
