Responsibilities
- Analyze large volumes of AMI smart meter data to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies
- Develop predictive models for energy consumption, load forecasting, and outage detection
- Perform data cleaning, transformation, and feature engineering on AMI datasets
- Build and deploy statistical and machine learning models to support utility operations
- Detect meter faults, non technical losses (NTL), and abnormal consumption behavior
- Develop dashboards, reports, and visualizations to communicate insights to stakeholders
- Collaborate with AMI engineers, data engineers, and business teams to define analytics requirements
- Support Meter Data Management System (MDMS) analytics and data validation processes
- Optimize algorithms for scalability and real time or near real time analytics
- Ensure data quality, governance, and compliance with utility and regulatory standards
Requirements
- Master's or PhD in Data Science, AI, Computer Science or related field
- Certified in advanced data science, machine learning or artificial intelligence
- Minimum 13 years of experience in data science or advanced analytics, preferably in utilities or energy sector
- Strong knowledge of machine learning, statistical modeling, and data mining techniques
- Proficiency in Python or R and data libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, Scikit learn
- Experience with SQL and handling large scale datasets
- Familiarity with AMI systems, smart metering, or energy utilities is preferred
- Experience with visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar

Role Overview
- The Data Scientist (AMI) is responsible for analyzing smart meter and energy consumption data from Advanced Metering Infrastructure systems to generate actionable insights for utility operations.
