- Review, validate, and update asset and customer data across multiple systems
- Perform data cleansing and remediation activities to improve data accuracy and completeness
- Conduct frequent customer outreach, primarily by phone, to validate, confirm, and enrich customer and asset information
- Complete repetitive data validation, data entry, and follow up activities with a high level of consistency and attention to detail
- Investigate data discrepancies and identify root causes of recurring data quality issues
- Track phone outreach outcomes, customer responses, and required follow up actions clearly and accurately
- Document findings, patterns, and recommendations to support long term improvements
- Maintain accurate records of completed updates and audit trails
- Support reporting and measurement of data quality improvements and business outcomes
- Collaborate with IT and business teams to prioritize and resolve issues
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in or recently completed a post secondary program in Information Technology, Data Analytics, Business Analysis, Business Administration, or a related field
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
- Excellent organizational and problem solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including confidence making professional phone calls to customers
- Comfortable performing repetitive, detail oriented work for extended periods while maintaining accuracy and quality

Position Overview
- Finning is seeking a detail oriented and analytical Data Quality Analyst Intern to support critical data quality initiatives across asset and customer records.
- This role will play an important part in improving the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of data used by business systems, customer facing platforms, and digital integrations.
- The work is structured, repetitive, and detail focused, requiring someone who can maintain accuracy and consistency while completing a high volume of similar validation and remediation tasks.
- Working closely with data, business, and technology teams, you will help identify, investigate, validate, and resolve data issues while contributing to a major business transformation initiative.
- A significant portion of this role will involve contacting customers by phone to confirm or gather information, so comfort with professional phone conversations, follow up, and accurate note taking is essential.
- This is an excellent opportunity for a student or early career professional looking to gain hands on experience in data management, data governance, business systems, and digital transformation.
- This role may be based in either Edmonton or Calgary for 4 6 months in duration in a hybrid work environment.

Required Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in or recently completed a post secondary program in: Information Technology or Data Analytics or Business Analysis or Business Administration Or a related field.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience conducting research, data validation, customer outreach
- Experience or being comfortable with engaging customers via telephone to collect, verify, and update key information.
- Experience working with databases, SQL, Fabric, Power BI, AI, or related tools.
- Understanding of data quality, data governance, or master data management principles.
- Familiarity with ERP, CRM, or enterprise business systems is an asset.
