What is the opportunity?

  • The Data Operations team is the backbone of data integrity at RBC Global Asset Management, creating and maintaining securities, issuers, accounts, and benchmarks.
  • As a Data Management Analyst, you'll ensure accuracy and quality of data, with significant growth potential in asset management data operations.

What will you do?

  • Maintain and enrich RBC Global Asset Management's data warehouse, including security classification, analytics, and reference data across all investment groups.
  • Perform data quality checks for core data and create securities on GAM's platforms with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Work in conjunction with team members to ensure data standards are defined and enforced consistently.
  • Collaborate with internal clients to identify, document, and source data requirements.
  • Validate data, catch errors early, and escalate issues appropriately to prevent downstream impacts.
  • Support short to mid term project implementations and contribute to team deliverables.
  • Document business and technical processes to support knowledge sharing and operational continuity.
  • Develop toolsets and methods to improve data quality and availability.
  • Proactively seek opportunities to contribute beyond assigned tasks and support team objectives.
  • Identify patterns, recurring issues, and suggest proactive solutions to improve workflows.

What do you need to succeed?

  • 1+ years of experience in asset management or investment management operations
  • Understanding of financial instruments (such as fixed income, equity, and derivative securities) and how data flows through the investment management business
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to validate data and ensure accuracy
  • Coachability & growth mindset: Receptive to feedback, eager to learn, and comfortable asking for help when needed
  • Ability to prioritize: Works effectively in a fast paced, deadline oriented environment with strong follow through skills
  • Strong Excel skills and working knowledge of SQL and/or Python (nice to have)
  • Data quality focus (nice to have)
