Responsibilities
- Maintain and enrich RBC Global Asset Management's data warehouse, including security classification, analytics, and reference data
- Perform data quality checks for core data and create securities on GAM's platforms with high accuracy
- Work with team members to ensure data standards are defined and enforced consistently
- Collaborate with internal clients to identify, document, and source data requirements
- Validate data, catch errors early, and escalate issues appropriately
- Support short to mid term project implementations and contribute to team deliverables
- Document business and technical processes to support knowledge sharing
- Develop toolsets and methods to improve data quality and availability
- Proactively seek opportunities to contribute beyond assigned tasks
- Identify patterns, recurring issues, and suggest proactive solutions
Requirements
- 1+ years of experience in asset management or investment management operations
- Understanding of financial instruments (fixed income, equity, derivative securities) and data flows
- Strong attention to detail with ability to validate data and ensure accuracy
- Coachability and growth mindset
- Ability to prioritize in fast paced environment
- Strong Excel skills and working knowledge of SQL and/or Python (nice to have)
- Data quality focus (nice to have)
- Ownership mentality (nice to have)

What is the opportunity?
- The Data Operations team is the backbone of data integrity at RBC Global Asset Management, creating and maintaining securities, issuers, accounts, and benchmarks.
- As a Data Management Analyst, you'll ensure accuracy and quality of data, with significant growth potential in asset management data operations.
What will you do?
- Maintain and enrich RBC Global Asset Management's data warehouse, including security classification, analytics, and reference data across all investment groups.
- Perform data quality checks for core data and create securities on GAM's platforms with a high degree of accuracy.
- Work in conjunction with team members to ensure data standards are defined and enforced consistently.
- Collaborate with internal clients to identify, document, and source data requirements.
- Validate data, catch errors early, and escalate issues appropriately to prevent downstream impacts.
- Support short to mid term project implementations and contribute to team deliverables.
- Document business and technical processes to support knowledge sharing and operational continuity.
- Develop toolsets and methods to improve data quality and availability.
- Proactively seek opportunities to contribute beyond assigned tasks and support team objectives.
- Identify patterns, recurring issues, and suggest proactive solutions to improve workflows.
What do you need to succeed?
- 1+ years of experience in asset management or investment management operations
- Understanding of financial instruments (such as fixed income, equity, and derivative securities) and how data flows through the investment management business
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to validate data and ensure accuracy
- Coachability & growth mindset: Receptive to feedback, eager to learn, and comfortable asking for help when needed
- Ability to prioritize: Works effectively in a fast paced, deadline oriented environment with strong follow through skills
