Opportunity Overview

  • The Data Operations team is the backbone of data integrity at RBC Global Asset Management.
  • The team creates and maintains securities, issuers, accounts, and benchmarks that power systems supporting investment operations.
  • As a Data Management Analyst, you'll ensure accuracy and quality of data, with significant growth potential.

What will you do?

  • Maintain and enrich RBC GAM's data warehouse, including security classification, analytics, and reference data.
  • Perform data quality checks and create securities on GAM's platforms with high accuracy.
  • Collaborate with internal clients to identify, document, and source data requirements.
  • Validate data, catch errors early, and escalate issues appropriately.
  • Support short to mid term project implementations and contribute to team deliverables.
  • Document business and technical processes to support knowledge sharing.
  • Develop toolsets and methods to improve data quality and availability.
  • Proactively seek opportunities to contribute beyond assigned tasks.
  • Identify patterns, recurring issues, and suggest proactive solutions.

Must have

  • 1+ years of experience in asset management or investment management operations.
  • Understanding of financial instruments (fixed income, equity, derivative securities) and data flows.
  • Strong attention to detail with ability to validate data and ensure accuracy.
  • Coachability and growth mindset: receptive to feedback, eager to learn.
  • Ability to prioritize in a fast paced, deadline oriented environment.

Nice to have

  • Strong Excel skills and working knowledge of SQL and/or Python.
  • Data quality focus: meticulous approach to validating data.
  • Ownership mentality: takes initiative and follows through.

Salary Range

  • Expected salary range: CAD 55,000 CAD 90,000 depending on experience, skills, and market conditions.
  • This position may be eligible for a discretionary/variable incentive payment.
