Data Engineer

Role Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Implement high-performance data platform architecture and technologies.
• Lead development of data engineering pipelines, standards, practices, and tools.
• Provide technical expertise and collaborate with stakeholders to align platform implementation with business objectives.
• Develop and deploy solutions for data acquisition, storage, transformation, querying, analysis, and consumption.
• Improve data orchestration, pipeline availability, resource efficiency, performance, and costs.
• Develop data warehouses, data models, schemas, and database performance optimization processes.
• Develop ETL/ELT, data integration, and data quality controls in accordance with data governance policies.
• Integrate data platforms with existing systems and sources, including big data, for batch and real-time processing.
• Maintain data lakes, lakehouses, ODS structures, and warehouses for analytics, reporting, and business intelligence.
• Work with data science, business intelligence, technology, business, and data management teams.

Education and Experience

• At least a bachelor’s degree is required.
• At least 7 years of experience in data engineering, data platform development, or a related field is required.
• Extensive experience with big data technologies and data platforms is required.
• Strong understanding of data modelling, data warehousing, and ETL/ELT processes is required.
• Proven experience designing and optimizing large-scale data solutions is required.
• Experience in project management and leading a project team is required.

• Arabic proficiency is required.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills are required.
• Strong teamwork, leadership, problem-solving, and collaboration skills are required.
• The role requires independent work, deadline management, adaptability, and the ability to work under pressure.
• The role requires communicating ideas to technical and non-technical audiences and executing clear strategies.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certifications in relevant big data and data integration technologies are preferred.
• Proficiency in Russian, Turkish, or Central Asian languages is a plus.
