Responsibilities
- Support Head of Credit Risk in providing credit risk support across geographies for sovereign, corporate, and financial institution transactions
- Interpret Group Credit Policy and related Standards and Procedures
- Consult on Credit Application Forms (CAF) for adequacy of risk explanation and mitigation
- Ensure CAF compliance with group policies and indicate level of support
- Sample check spreadsheets, covenants, and conditionality on a minimum 10% basis
- Monitor developments in covered countries and travel annually to inform country reviews
- Monitor completeness and timeliness of annual reviews
- Assist in delivery of reports on sectors or across multiple jurisdictions
- Identify relationships or sectors with elevated credit risk for close monitoring
- Contribute to risk related projects and record contributions for evaluation
- Ensure appropriate training from internal or external sources, including at least one external course per annum
Requirements
- Seasoned corporate credit professional with significant experience (10 years +) of UAE/GCC corporates
- Excellent PC skills, particularly MS Office and ability to present information
- Good communications/interpersonal skills
- Good degree of analytical and problem solving skills
- Basic understanding of IFRS requirements
- Degree with an element of finance or equivalent, Institute of Bankers associate or equivalent
- Understanding of Banking products and the related market dynamics (advantage)
- Awareness of Performance Management tools (advantage)

Job Purpose
- The bank is organized along the three lines of defense operating model. Group Credit is part of the control function in the second line of defense. The Credit Risk unit reports to Head of Credit Risk unit, the Group Head of Corporate Credit, DIFC CEO, Group Chief Credit Officer who in turn reports t
Principal Responsibilities
- Credit portfolio management (65%): Support Head of Credit Risk across geographies for sovereign, corporate, and financial institution transactions; interpret Group Credit Policy; consult on Credit Application Forms; ensure CAF compliance; sample check spreadsheets and covenants; monitor country deve
- Risk related project management (15%): Provide assistance and support on risk related projects, from single item report amendments to multi million dollar transformational projects.
- Development (20%): Ensure appropriate training from internal or external sources, including at least one external course per annum and regular internal seminars.
Job Requirements
- Knowledge: Excellent PC skills, particularly MS Office; good communications/interpersonal skills; good analytical and problem solving skills; basic understanding of IFRS requirements; advantage: understanding of Banking products and market dynamics, awareness of Performance Management tools.
- Education/Certificates: Degree with an element of finance or equivalent, Institute of Bankers associate or equivalent.
- Experience: Seasoned corporate credit professional with significant experience (10 years +) of UAE/GCC corporates, market knowledge, UAE/GCC credit contacts along with good stakeholder management skills.
