Cost Estimation Lead

Role Overview

Responsibilities

• Coordinating with project teams and contractors in the development of classified and unclassified cost estimates and estimate confidence packages.
• Monitoring contractor performance in cost estimating and cost control, providing guidance to ensure project objectives are achieved.
• Developing and delivering project cost estimating plans and estimation strategies.
• Establishing, communicating, and implementing cost estimating processes, procedures, and methodologies.
• Coordinating the preparation, review, and stewardship of cost estimate plans and cost control activities.
• Preparing classified and unclassified cost estimates during the EPC phase.
• Applying and managing Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) processes for the development of Estimation Cost Breakdown Structures (CBS).
• Reviewing contractor change proposals and preparing internal cost estimates for scope changes and variations.
• Developing performance measures, benchmarking metrics, and reporting systems to drive best-in-class cost estimating performance.
• Performing quantity take-offs from Civil, Structural, Piping, Electrical Single Line Diagrams, and Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
• Applying appropriate unit rates, productivity factors, and estimating methodologies to develop accurate cost estimates.
• Supporting project forecasting, budgeting, and cost management throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications, Knowledge And/or Experience, Technical And Business Skills

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, Commercial, Marketing, Sciences, Engineering, Project Management, Supply Chain Management, Law, Communications, Technology, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in a business-related function or discipline.
• Minimum 4 years of experience within the Oil & Gas industry.
• At least 1 year of experience in a supervisory, acting leadership, or oversight role.
• Experience managing or overseeing contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and service providers.
• Strong commercial, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary project environment.
• Excellent communication, coordination, and reporting capabilities.
