Minimum Qualifications
- Extensive hands-on experience with control systems, PLC, SCADA, instrumentation, networking, and computer installations on drilling rigs.
- A bachelor's degree in electrical, electronics, telecommunications engineering, or computer science is preferred but not essential.
Minimum Experience
- Ten to fifteen years of hands-on experience in a supervisory position overseeing electronics and drilling control systems.
- Familiarity with major drilling OEM products is required; OEM training or prior OEM employment is preferred.
Job-Specific Skills
- Strong knowledge of electronics, communication systems, and software used on drilling rigs.
- Advanced troubleshooting capability for control systems, hydraulic systems, and pneumatic systems.
- Proficiency in CMMS, documentation control, and data management.
Governance and Technical Standards
- Develop and maintain discipline-specific standard operating procedures for electronics and control systems.
- Review and validate maintenance procedures, testing requirements, and sequences and recommend approval through governance channels.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and industry standards, API requirements, OEM manuals, and Class or Flag requirements.
Reliability and Troubleshooting
- Lead troubleshooting of Amphion, Cyberbase, and Centurion control systems; engine controls; hydraulic and pneumatic controls; AC and DC drives; rig instrumentation; Fire and Gas systems; PAGA; PABX; navigation; weather monitoring; PLC systems; cranes; and vehicle electronics.
