Role Overview

Strategic Contract Leadership

• Interpret complex contractual provisions and set the strategic direction for project responses to client positions.
• Anticipate project-wide contractual and commercial risks and shape mitigation strategies before issues escalate.
• Represent the company’s contractual position to senior client and consortium stakeholders.

Contract Administration and Change

• Oversee contractual correspondence, notices, formal communications, deadlines, approval timelines, and the contract register.
• Direct preparation, evaluation, negotiation, substantiation, and close-out of variation and change orders.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and construction leaders on technical and commercial change justifications.

Claims and Disputes

• Lead Extension of Time and associated cost claims using contractual entitlement and supporting project evidence.
• Own claim strategy and timing and lead negotiation, mediation, or formal dispute board proceedings.
• Represent the company in escalated disputes and align positions with project leadership and consortium partners.

Risk, Compliance, and Subcontracts

• Identify contractual risks and oversee compliance with contract terms, regulations, governance policies, insurance, bonding, and guarantees.
• Oversee subcontract and subvendor drafting, negotiation, administration, and back-to-back alignment with the main contract.
• Provide senior oversight on significant subcontractor claims, variations, and performance issues.

Team Leadership and Reporting

• Lead and mentor project managers and engineers in claims preparation, negotiation, and contract administration.
• Review and approve key contractual deliverables prepared by the operations team.
• Provide leadership and client-facing reporting on contractual status, claims, variations, and risk exposure.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Law, or a related field.
• Minimum 10–15 years of contracts management experience on large-scale EPC or industrial projects.
• At least 4–5 years in a senior, client-facing contractual leadership role.
• Experience with major EPC negotiations, FIDIC contract forms, significant claims, and formal dispute resolution.
• Proficiency in contract management tools or software and Microsoft Office.

Preferred Qualifications

• Postgraduate qualification in Construction Law or Contract Management.
• Prior experience managing or mentoring a contracts team.
• Extensive experience in Middle East regulatory and labor environments, including Saudi Arabia or the GCC.

QHSE and Workplace Commitments

• Apply QHSE policies, standards, procedures, risk assessments, and valid work permits across site, plant, and project activities.
• Support QHSE audits and inspections, report incidents and unsafe conditions, and maintain documented compliance information.
• Ensure customer satisfaction requirements are implemented and maintained.
