Role Overview

The Contract Administrator oversees contractual agreements, analyzes project delays, and provides insights to mitigate risks and maintain project schedules.

The role ensures contract document requirements are implemented throughout the contract period and supports claims, payments, variations, and reporting.

Contract Administration

  • Advise project management on contractual matters and manage correspondence under contract terms, specifications, drawings, and construction change orders.
  • Manage contractual commitments and work performance according to client instructions and contract requirements.
  • Review and interpret contract conditions, scopes of work, drawings, schedules, as-built schedules, actual dates, and delay events.
  • Manage contract variations and change orders and communicate changes to stakeholders.
  • Prepare supported estimates and claims for contract alterations and variations.

Delay and Claims Management

  • Assist clients with Extension of Time claims and respond to contractor Extension of Time claims.
  • Assess delays using schedules, progress reports, and relevant documentation.
  • Collaborate with project managers and engineers to determine delay causes, including unforeseen events, scope changes, and external factors.
  • Develop risk mitigation strategies affecting project timelines and contractual obligations.
  • Prepare delay reports and claim documentation for dispute resolution and provide expert opinions during negotiations, mediation, or legal proceedings.

Pre-Contract Advice

  • Provide advice on pre-contract matters, including procurement and contracting strategy and tactics.

Requirements

  • At least 15 years of relevant experience managing contractual commitments.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Analytical and detail-oriented approach.
