Role Overview
The Bridge Inspector inspects and monitors bridge and structural works on site.
The role focuses on quality assurance, safety compliance, and proper execution of construction activities under supervision.
Responsibilities
- Inspect bridge and structural works, including piling, substructure, and superstructure activities.
- Monitor reinforcement, formwork, concrete casting, and curing processes.
- Ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
- Conduct routine site inspections and report non-conformance issues.
- Verify materials delivered to site and witness tests for concrete, materials, and structural elements.
- Ensure traffic and work zone safety where applicable.
- Coordinate with contractors and site engineers to resolve minor site issues.
- Maintain inspection records and report progress, issues, and observations to the supervising engineer.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering is mandatory.
- At least 7 years of experience in bridge and structural inspection is required.
- Experience with major roads, bridges, and highways projects in PMC or construction supervision projects is required.
- Good knowledge of structural drawings and construction methods is required.
- Familiarity with international standards and codes, including AASHTO, BS, and ACI, is required.
- Strong attention to detail and reporting skills are required.
