Overview
Oversee daily maritime transportation operations and ensure activities are completed efficiently, safely, and according to schedule.
Operations Responsibilities
- Supervise operational teams, provide direction, and support employees in improving performance and daily work processes.
- Identify opportunities to improve transport efficiency, optimize resources, and control operating costs.
- Ensure maritime transport activities comply with regulations, safety requirements, company procedures, and industry standards.
- Coordinate with internal departments to resolve operational requirements and maintain a smooth workflow.
- Track operational KPIs and prepare reports, summaries, and updates for management review.
- Respond promptly to operational problems, coordinate solutions, and minimize delays or disruptions.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives for logistics processes, service quality, and transport performance.
- Maintain complete and accurate operational records in company systems.
- Assist with transport scheduling, workforce planning, and resource allocation.
Job Experience Requirements
- Practical experience using OTMS or other transport management and operational systems.
- Previous experience in container transportation, shipping, freight, or maritime logistics is advantageous.
- Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to guide staff.
- Ability to make timely decisions and manage unexpected situations under operational pressure.
- Good communication, coordination, and interpersonal skills for cross-departmental work.
- Strong organizational and analytical approach focused on accuracy, productivity, cost control, and operational efficiency.
