About the Role
King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre is seeking a Consultant in Plastic Surgery to provide high-quality care in diagnosis and treatment, teach junior staff, and participate in research.

Responsibilities
- Admit patients with Plastic Surgery pathologies and take responsibility for their care, diagnosis, and management
- Provide high quality patient care in all aspects of Plastic Surgery according to approved clinical privileges
- Take informed consent and explain risks, benefits, and alternative treatments to patients
- Work with other support service departments and medical specializations to provide appropriate and timely consultation
- Comply with all Hospital standards and policies pertaining to admission, consultation, daily patient care, operating room, outpatient practice, and discharge
- Assess patients' disease or condition to determine appropriate therapeutic modalities/procedures
- Conduct ward rounds as per policy and reassess inpatients under care, documenting findings in medical records
- Ensure appropriate patient preparation for procedures/surgery and perform procedures/surgery as indicated
- Participate in self and others' education, training, and development
- Attend specialty clinics, outpatient clinics, day surgical units, and share on call schedule
- Teach and supervise junior staff on patient management, especially in Plastic Surgery
- Guide and actively participate in training of Residents, Fellows, Assistant Consultants, and Junior Staff
Requirements
- Medical degree and board certification in Plastic Surgery
- Experience in plastic surgery including diagnosis, treatment, and surgical procedures
- Ability to teach and supervise junior staff
- Active participation in research and publication

Summary
- Responsible for providing high quality care in diagnosis and treatment of Plastic disease and pathologies in accordance with current medical staff bylaws, rules and regulations and the Hospital policies and procedures.
- Provide consultation on timely fashion and share on call schedule as outlined by the Head Section.
- Actively participate in teaching and promote research.
Clinical Responsibilities
- Admits patients with Plastic Surgery pathologies and takes responsibility for their care, diagnosis and managements.
- Provides high quality patient care in all aspects of Plastic Surgery according to his/her approval clinical privileges.
- Takes informed consent and explain to the patient all the risk and benefits associate with his/her management and highlight the alternative treatment.
- Works will other support service Departments and medical specializations to provide appropriate and timely consultation.
- Complies with all Hospital standards and policies pertaining to acceptance, eligibility, admission process, consultation, daily patient care, operating room, outpatient practice, and patient discharge.
- Follows all Hospital related policies and procedures.
- Assesses patients disease or condition to determined appropriate therapeutic modalities/procedures.
- Conducts ward rounds as per policy and reassesses inpatients under care.
- Endures appropriate patients preparation for procedures/surgery and performs procedures/ surgery as indicated.
- Participates in self and others education, training and development, as possible.
- Attends speciality clinics, outpatient clinics. Day surgical units, special procedures, treatment areas and shares on call schedule as pre requirements.
- Performs all other clinical responsibilities, as assigned.
Academic Responsibilities
- Teach and supervise junior staff on patient management, especially in the field of Plastic Surgery.
- Guides and actively participates in the training of Residents, Fellows, Assistant Consultant and Junior Staff.
- Keeps up with the latest techniques and developments, especially in the field of Plastic Surgery.
- Actively participates in the education activities and training programs of the Department.
- Attend and present in Regional, National and/or International Medical Conference at least once a year.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Takes the administrative duties assigned by Head Section or Chairman of the Department.
- Participates in all mandatory Departmental activities and serves on Department and Hospital committees, as required.
- Assists the Department in the development and implementation of techniques and practices that help maximize the utilization of all resources.
- Abides by the current Hospital and medical staff bylaws, all relevant rules, regulations and policies.
Research Responsibilities
- Participates in clinical, basic and translational research projects and publishes papers in accordance with Research Advisory Policy.
- Participates in self and others education, training and development as applicable.
- Follows all Hospital related policies and procedures.
