About the Role
Dr. Soliman Fakeeh Hospital is seeking a Consultant Physician to perform assessment and management of patients with an evidence-based approach. The role requires completion of structured training in a recognized medical center, relevant experience, and licensure from regional health authorities such as SCFHS/DHA.

Responsibilities
- Perform clinical duties as per assigned clinical privileges
- Assess patients thoroughly (clinical, socioeconomic, psychological, functional) and document in medical records
- Develop evidence based plan of care and document in medical record
- Serve as Most Responsible Physician (MRP) for inpatients admitted under his/her name
- Develop discharge plan on day of admission and involve discharge planning service as needed
- Assess inpatients at least once daily and document daily progress notes using SOAP format
- Respond to medical consultations in a timely manner
- Document medical interventions in a timely manner
- Complete and authenticate discharge summaries in a timely manner
- Attend to facility duties and respond to calls as per departmental call schedule
- Attend departmental and general staff meetings and contribute ideas for improvement
- Write medical reports in a timely manner as per Fakeeh Care format
Requirements
- Completion of structured training in the field of specialty or subspecialty in a recognized medical center, obtaining the highest clinical degree
- Completion of experience according to regional health regulatory authority within the field of specialty
- License for practice as per regional health regulatory authority (e.g., SCFHS/DHA), BLS and advanced license if applicable
- Excellent command of oral and written English and Arabic
- Must be able to clearly communicate with patients, families, physicians, and non medical staff
- Microsoft computer skills
- Good organization skills and ability to work in high stress situations

Job Purpose
- Performs assessment and management of patients with an evidence based approach, according to standards of care, and in compliance with Fakeeh Care bylaws, policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Performs clinical duties as per his / her assigned clinical privileges.
- Assesses his / her patients thoroughly (eg. clinical, socioeconomic, psychological and functional assessments) and documents patients' assessment in patients' medical records.
- Develops a plan of care for patients using an evidence based approach and following standards of care, and documents the plan of care in patients medical record.
- Ensures that patients plan of care that is put by him/her is being implemented in a timely manner.
- Becomes the most responsible physician (MRP) for inpatients admitted under his / her name.
- For inpatients admitted under his / her name, develops discharge plan on day of admission and involves discharge planning service as early as possible if warranted.
- Assesses inpatients that are admitted under his / her name at least once daily and ensures documentation of daily assessment and plan of care in daily progress notes using SOAP format.
- Responds to medical consultations in timely manner.
- Documents medical interventions that he / she performs on patients in a timely manner.
- Strictly follows Fakeeh care standards for documentation in medical records
- Responsible for timely completion and authentication of discharge summaries for patients admitted under his / her name. Also responsible for ensuring that indicated discharge instructions and education on take home medications is done prior to patients discharge.
- Attends to Fakeeh Health Care facility duties and responds to calls from the facility as per the departmental / section call schedule.
Skills and Abilities
- Must be able to clearly communicate with patients and their families, physicians and non medical staff.
- Microsoft computer skills.
- Should have good organization skills and be able to work in high stress situations.
Experience
- Completion of experience according to the regional health regulatory authority (as mentioned in education) within the field of specialty, in recognized medical centers.
Education
- Completion of structured training in the field of specialty or subspecialty in a recognized medical center, and obtaining the highest clinical degree in that field of specialty that can be granted by that medical center.
Language
- Excellent command of oral and written English and Arabic.
Licenses / Certifications
- License for practice as per the regional health regulatory authority e.g. (SCFHS / DHA), BLS and advanced license if applicable.
