- Act as primary patient advocate, coordinating referrals to specialists and allied health professionals.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary clinical team for integrated care.
- Maintain electronic medical records in compliance with DHA regulations and JCI standards.
- Participate in clinical governance, peer reviews, quality improvement, and patient safety audits.
- Contribute to internal CME programs and stay current with advancements.
Requirements
- Basic Medical Degree: MBBS or equivalent from a recognized university
- Completion of formal higher professional training and Board Certification/Specialty Certificate in Family Medicine (e.g., ABFM, MRCGP, CCFP, FRACGP, Arab Board)
- Must hold an active DHA Consultant License or a valid DHA Eligibility Letter as a Consultant in Family Medicine
- Minimum of 2 years (Tier 1) or 5 8 years (Tier 2) of post specialty continuous practice
- Exceptional diagnostic, therapeutic, and clinical judgment
- Advanced patient centric communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong familiarity with Dubai's insurance workflows and regulatory documentation standards

Job Description: Consultant Family Medicine

Job Purpose

Clinical Excellence & Patient Care
- Deliver comprehensive primary care consultations, detailed clinical assessments, and physical examinations for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patient populations.
- Diagnose and manage a wide spectrum of acute illnesses, minor injuries, and complex, multi system chronic conditions (e.g., Type 2 diabetes, hypertension, dyslipidemia, asthma, and metabolic disorders) in accordance with local and international evidence based guidelines.
- Formulate, implement, and monitor individualized, long term patient care and treatment plans, ensuring robust follow up and continuity of care.
- Perform minor outpatient procedures appropriate to the scope of family medicine (e.g., joint injections, minor wound care, skin biopsies, and basic cryotherapy).
Preventative Health & Wellness
- Design and execute preventive healthcare strategies, including routine health screenings, age appropriate immunizations, cancer screenings, and early wellness interventions.
- Provide dedicated lifestyle counseling on nutrition, weight management, smoking cessation, stress reduction, and physical activity to optimize patient longevity and metabolic health.
Care Coordination & Collaboration
- Act as the primary patient advocate, coordinating seamless referrals to tertiary specialists, diagnostic services, and allied health professionals when medically indicated.
- Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary clinical team (including nurses, specialists, and pharmacists) to deliver integrated, high quality healthcare.
Clinical Governance & Administration
- Maintain flawless electronic medical records (EMR) and clinical documentation in strict compliance with DHA regulations, Joint Commission International (JCI) standards, and institutional policies.
- Participate actively in clinical governance, peer reviews, quality improvement initiatives, and patient safety audits.
- Contribute to internal continuing medical education (CME) programs and stay current with advancements in primary care medicine.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Basic Medical Degree: MBBS or equivalent from a recognized university listed in the World Directory of Medical Schools.
- Specialty Qualification: Completion of formal higher professional training and Board Certification/Specialty Certificate in Family Medicine. Recognized Tier 1 or Tier 2 qualifications include: USA: American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM); UK: Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) / MRCGP; Can
- DHA License: Must hold an active DHA Consultant License or a valid DHA Eligibility Letter as a Consultant in Family Medicine.
- Experience: Tier 1 Pathway: Minimum of 2 years of post specialty continuous practice in a recognized multidisciplinary or hospital setting. Tier 2 Pathway: Minimum of 5 to 8 years of verified postgraduate clinical experience in the specialty.
- Proven track record working within culturally diverse patient environments.
- Key Competencies: Exceptional diagnostic, therapeutic, and clinical judgment; Advanced patient centric communication and interpersonal skills; Strong familiarity with Dubai's insurance workflows and regulatory documentation standards.
