Role Overview

Airswift is seeking an experienced Construction Supervisor (Mechanical) for a major oil and gas project in Qatar.

The role covers mechanical construction supervision for static and rotating equipment in midstream and downstream facilities.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university is required.
  • Formal QA/QC training is preferred.
  • At least 10 years of experience in static and rotating equipment installation within midstream or downstream oil and gas facilities is required.
  • EPIC Contractor Supervisor experience is essential.
  • Experience in Qatar or other GCC countries is required.

Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of ASME, ANSI, ISO, API, NFPA, and SHELL DEP codes and standards is required.
  • Experience includes equipment installation, FAT, alignment, inspection, pressure testing, pre-commissioning, and mechanical completion.
  • Experience with coating, painting, galvanizing, wrapping, insulation, refractory systems, greenfield and brownfield projects is required.
  • Experience with PTW, LOTO, live plant tie-ins, lifting plans, and crane studies is required.
  • The candidate must interpret P&IDs, GA drawings, equipment layouts, structural drawings, and manufacturer manuals.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant engineering software is required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise mechanical installation and inspection activities in line with approved documents and schedules.
  • Review method statements, JHAs, material approvals, RFIs, and ITP compliance.
  • Coordinate contractors and manage testing, pre-commissioning, reinstatement, and mechanical completion activities.
  • Conduct site inspections, monitor progress, and enforce safety and quality requirements.
  • Support PSSR, startup, operations interface, as-built documentation, and handover activities.
  • Ensure strict compliance with HSE regulations and Permit to Work procedures.
