Job Purpose
Manage assigned process EPC construction activities from detailed engineering through construction execution at Ras Laffan Industrial City and handover to the Completion Team.
Control construction execution, schedules, milestones, and the transition from construction to precommissioning and commissioning.
Operate in a complex megaproject environment with responsibility for construction execution and handover performance.
Key Challenges
- Supervise EPC package construction execution on site at Ras Laffan.
- Integrate construction, precommissioning, and commissioning activities.
- Manage interfaces among EPC joint venture participants, contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and project teams.
- Deliver strong safety, health, environmental, security, quality, schedule, and cost performance.
Key Accountabilities
- Review and approve contractor construction execution plans, procedures, specifications, deliverables, and progress reports.
- Identify issues, determine root causes, and develop effective mitigation and resolution plans.
- Organize project teams and stakeholders to achieve project objectives.
- Participate in weekly and monthly meetings, 3D model reviews, constructability reviews, traffic reviews, and completion reviews.
- Provide leadership for EPC construction activities involving approximately 5,000–10,000 workers.
- Capture lessons learned, communicate project learning, support review teams, and contribute to future-project improvements.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering.
- At least 12 years of large-scale construction experience in oil and gas-related disciplines.
- At least 3 years of management-level experience in construction, engineering, or project management.
- Experience with overall responsibility for EPC execution.
- Experience on LNG projects and in multicultural project environments.
Technical and Project Experience
- Experience may include construction, installation, fabrication, execution, completion, and hookup activities.
- Knowledge of design standards, specifications, codes, and safety requirements for fabrication, transportation, installation, brownfield execution, and hookup.
- Understanding of execution methods and risks for LNG and sour gas facilities.
- Experience managing EPC contractors, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Experience with Advanced Work Packaging, Systems Completion Management, and associated completion databases.
- Ability to introduce innovative construction methodologies and apply lessons learned from complex LNG developments.
