Responsibilities
- Act as the appointed Compliance Officer & MLRO
- Develop, implement, and maintain AML/CFT policies, procedures, and compliance frameworks in line with VARA regulations
- Oversee KYC, Customer Due Diligence (CDD), Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD), sanctions screening, transaction monitoring, and ongoing client reviews
- Manage goAML reporting, including STR/SAR submissions where required
- Conduct AML/CFT risk assessments and compliance monitoring
- Liaise with VARA and other relevant regulatory authorities
- Ensure compliance with UAE AML/CFT laws and VARA Rulebooks
- Deliver compliance training and provide regulatory guidance to internal stakeholders
- Support internal audits, regulatory inspections, and remediation activities
Requirements
- Current or previous experience with a VARA regulated Virtual Asset Service Provider (VASP)
- UAE Resident or UAE Passport Holder
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a compliance function
- Strong knowledge of VARA Rulebooks, UAE AML/CFT regulations, and financial crime compliance
- Hands on experience with AML/CFT, KYC, CDD, EDD, sanctions screening, transaction monitoring, and goAML reporting
- Eligible to satisfy VARA Fit & Proper requirements
- Previous experience as a Compliance Officer and/or MLRO is highly preferred
- Ability to serve as a Responsible Individual (RI) is a strong advantage
- Bachelor's degree in Law, Finance, Business, Compliance, or a related field
- ACAMS, ICA, or equivalent compliance certification is highly preferred

About the Role
- We are seeking an experienced Compliance Officer & MLRO to lead our AML/CFT compliance function within a VARA regulated virtual assets business.
- This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with UAE regulatory requirements, maintaining an effective compliance framework, and overseeing all financial crime prevention activities.
- The successful candidate may also be considered for appointment as the company's Responsible Individual (RI), subject to experience and regulatory approval.

Salary
- AED 25,000 – 30,000 per month
