Job Description

  • Prepare and portion ingredients for Asian cuisine dishes according to standardized recipes and chef specifications.
  • Assist senior chefs in the preparation, cooking, and plating of Asian dishes with precision and attention to detail.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workstation, adhering to all food safety and hygiene protocols.
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely and effectively, including woks, steamers, fryers, and other specialized Asian cooking tools.
  • Support the kitchen team in executing daily meal services while managing time effectively during peak hours.
  • Follow all food handling procedures and comply with UAE food safety regulations and organizational standards.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of orders.
  • Assist with inventory management, stock rotation, and proper storage of ingredients.
  • Continuously learn and develop Asian culinary techniques under the guidance of senior kitchen staff.
  • Perform additional kitchen duties as assigned by the head chef or kitchen management.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience working in a professional kitchen environment (preferred).
  • Familiarity with Asian cuisine preparation techniques and cooking methods (preferred).
  • Strong knife skills and proficiency with basic food preparation techniques.
  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards, with current food safety certification (preferred).
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast paced, high volume kitchen setting.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong teamwork and communication abilities with a collaborative mindset.
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining consistent food quality standards.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new cooking techniques and kitchen procedures.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work effectively under supervision.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
