Role Overview

Commercial Finance Responsibilities

• Act as the first point of contact for project profitability questions and monitor business teams’ ability to meet revenue and profitability targets.
• Influence operational, pricing, and growth decisions through objective financial and business analysis.
• Conduct market research to identify acquisition targets in engineering, environmental, and planning sectors.
• Build DCF, precedent transaction, and comparable company models to evaluate acquisitions and support deal pricing.
• Coordinate end-to-end due diligence with HR, IT, Finance, Legal, subject matter experts, and external advisors.
• Support letters of intent, term sheets, and internal investment memoranda for the CEO and Board of Directors.
• Track integration KPIs, resolve operational bottlenecks, and help newly acquired teams transition into Dillon’s employee-owned culture.

• Commit to self-development, ongoing learning, and professional development.
• Mentor junior staff in data science and digital project delivery methodologies.
• Contribute to Dillon’s corporate profile through professional associations and committees.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
• CPA, CFA, or CBV designation is an asset.
• Advanced Excel proficiency with strong financial modeling and analytical skills.
• Strong organization, communication, business acumen, emotional intelligence, and ability to manage complex due diligence.
• Proactive use of AI and automation to solve financial problems and modernize workflows.

Experience

• 2 to 5 years of experience in corporate development, investment banking, transaction advisory, private equity, or management consulting.
• Experience contributing to continuous improvement, challenging existing processes, and driving efficiency.
• Experience presenting complex financial information clearly and concisely.

Compensation

• The advertised compensation range is $95,000 to $135,000.
• Final compensation may depend on education, experience, skills, internal equity, and geographic region.

Work Arrangement

• Dillon offers flexible work hours and hybrid working options to balance work and personal demands.
• The position may be based at any one of Dillon’s 25+ offices across Canada.
