Commercial Finance Manager

Role Overview

Core Responsibilities

• Drive annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting across assigned portfolios, including headcount, labor rates, utilization, spending, sales, and margin targets.
• Support pipeline, backlog, revenue fill rates, project profitability, client strategy, and early variance identification.
• Lead pricing strategy execution and advise on service portfolio profitability and operational efficiency.
• Bridge Project Managers and Finance on variances, cost to completion, fiscal-year estimates, WIP, and accounts receivable.
• Analyze results, explain missed targets, co-create action plans, and provide forward-looking business guidance.
• Support timely company-wide financial reporting and monthly results communication.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
• CPA, MBA, or relevant industry experience is an asset.
• Commercial partnership experience involving pricing strategies, margin oversight, and operational accountability.
• Deep project financial management literacy covering WIP and AR, utilization, markups, estimate at completion, and contribution margins.
• Five to eight or more years of progressive commercial finance, operational FP&A, business management, or management consulting experience.
• Professional services, engineering, architecture, or project-based corporate experience is preferred.
• Enterprise ERP and business intelligence systems experience, including tools such as Deltek Vision/Vantagepoint, BST, Unanet, Infor, Power BI, or Tableau.
• Strong interpersonal and influential skills for advising senior operational leaders.

Compensation

• The posted compensation range is CAD 95,000 to CAD 135,000, subject to education, experience, skills, internal equity, and geographic region.
