Overview
- King's College Hospital London – Dubai is seeking an experienced and visionary Clinical Applications Architect to lead the technical architecture, design, and integration strategy of our clinical systems landscape.
- This is a leadership opportunity for a healthcare IT professional with deep expertise in Cerner Millennium (Oracle Health), clinical system architecture, interoperability, and digital transformation.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and maintain the solution architecture for the hospital's clinical application landscape.
- Define architectural standards, technical design patterns, build frameworks, and governance processes.
- Translate clinical, operational, and regulatory requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Lead technical design activities for major implementations, upgrades, and digital transformation initiatives.
- Develop and maintain architecture roadmaps, ensuring long term sustainability and performance.
- Design and govern integrations across Cerner Millennium and enterprise systems including laboratory, radiology, pharmacy, billing, and patient facing platforms.
- Lead architecture for HL7 v2, FHIR, integration engine, and Biomedical Device Integration (BMDI/MDI) solutions.
- Ensure secure, reliable, and compliant data exchange across all connected systems.
- Resolve complex interoperability challenges in collaboration with vendors and clinical stakeholders.
- Provide architectural leadership for patient portals, mobile health applications, and digital patient engagement solutions.
- Guide integration of ambient AI clinical documentation tools and other innovative healthcare technologies.
- Oversee clinical to financial integration and revenue cycle workflows to ensure data integrity and compliance.
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Health Informatics, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 10 years' experience in healthcare IT, including extensive hands on experience with Cerner Millennium (Oracle Health) or a comparable enterprise EHR platform.
- Proven experience owning solution architecture and integration design across complex healthcare environments.

Technical Expertise
- Expert knowledge of Cerner Millennium architecture and configuration.
- Advanced understanding of HL7 v2, FHIR, interoperability standards, and integration engines.
- Experience with Biomedical Device Integration (BMDI/MDI).
- Knowledge of billing and revenue cycle integrations.
- Experience integrating patient facing portals, mobile applications, and digital health technologies.
- Understanding of healthcare cybersecurity, information governance, and clinical safety principles.
- Strong solution documentation skills, including architecture diagrams, interface specifications, and technical design documentation.
