Role Summary
The Civil Draftsman prepares, develops, and maintains accurate civil and construction drawings for construction projects.
The role works with civil engineers, site teams, consultants, and other disciplines to meet approved designs, project specifications, and site requirements.
The role supports shop drawings, detailed drawings, coordination drawings, revisions, and as-built drawings throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare civil, structural, and construction drawings using AutoCAD.
- Develop shop, detailed, coordination, and as-built drawings.
- Prepare plans, sections, elevations, layouts, and construction details.
- Review drawings and incorporate comments from engineers, consultants, and clients.
- Coordinate civil drawings with architectural, structural, MEP, and other disciplines.
- Work with site engineers and project teams on drawing requirements and revisions.
- Ensure drawings comply with approved designs, project specifications, and relevant standards.
- Maintain drawing numbering, revisions, and document control.
- Update as-built drawings based on actual site conditions and approved changes.
- Issue accurate and clear drawings within required project timelines.
Requirements
- Diploma or bachelor's degree in civil engineering, drafting, or a related field.
- Five years of relevant experience as a Civil Draftsman.
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD.
- Experience in building or construction projects is preferred.
- UAE or GCC construction experience is an advantage.
- Ability to read and interpret civil, structural, and architectural drawings.
- Good understanding of construction methods and technical drawings.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and coordinate effectively with engineers and site teams.
