Chief Accountant

Job Summary

Job Responsibilities

• Oversee the accounting department and ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.
• Supervise accounting staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluation.
• Develop accounting policies, procedures, and controls to protect company assets and financial data.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Manage month-end and year-end closing, reconciliations, accruals, and adjustments.
• Coordinate external audits and regulatory compliance activities.
• Provide financial analysis and performance insights to senior management.
• Monitor financial performance and recommend improvements to costs, revenue, and operational efficiency.
• Provide financial guidance to department heads and business unit leaders.
• Maintain compliance with changes in accounting standards, regulations, and industry practices.
• Support HSE initiatives, safety awareness, and incident reporting and resolution.

Job Knowledge and Skills

• Extensive knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.
• Excellent analytical skills for interpreting financial data and identifying trends.
• Experience with financial statement preparation, budgeting, and forecasting.
• ERP knowledge, preferably SAP functional skills, is required.

Job Experience

• Minimum 8 years of working experience.
• At least 5 years of relevant working experience.
• Two years of GCC experience is a plus.
