- Prepare and cook menu items according to standardized recipes and quality specifications
- Manage and oversee a designated kitchen section (e.g., grill, fryer, salad, prep, or hot kitchen)
- Ensure food is prepared and served within established service times
- Monitor food quality, presentation, portion control, and consistency
- Supervise, train, and mentor Commis Chefs and kitchen assistants
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the assigned workstation
- Ensure compliance with food safety, HACCP, and sanitation standards
- Monitor stock levels and inform the Kitchen Manager of inventory requirements
- Minimize food waste and ensure proper storage and labeling of ingredients
- Assist with receiving deliveries and checking product quality
- Support menu rollouts, promotions, and new product launches
- Collaborate with other kitchen sections to ensure smooth service
Requirements
- Diploma or Certificate in Culinary Arts or a related field (preferred)
- 3 years of kitchen experience, with at least 2 years as a Chef de Partie or Senior Commis in a QSR, casual dining, or high volume restaurant
- Experience working in a fast paced, high volume kitchen environment
- HACCP or Food Safety Certification is an advantage
- Strong cooking and food preparation skills
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
- Leadership and team supervision abilities
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet service deadlines
- Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
