Role Overview
The CDP Pastry / Bakery prepares, produces, and presents high-quality pastry and bakery items to restaurant standards.
The role requires creativity, precision, and consistency to support the guest dining experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and bake a wide range of pastries, breads, cakes, and desserts.
- Ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and portion control.
- Supervise and train junior pastry staff, including Commis and DCDP staff.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the pastry kitchen.
- Monitor stock levels, assist in ordering ingredients, and minimize wastage.
- Collaborate with the Head Pastry Chef to develop recipes and seasonal menus.
- Adhere to food safety regulations and HACCP standards.
- Ensure timely preparation and delivery of pastry items during service.
Requirements
- Diploma or certification in Culinary Arts or Pastry and Bakery.
- Three to five years of experience in pastry or bakery.
- Experience in fine dining or five-star hotels is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of pastry techniques, baking methods, and dessert plating.
- Ability to lead and motivate a small team.
- Creativity and passion for pastry innovation.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
- Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays.
