About the Role
SPIE Global Services Energy is hiring a Category Specialist to support the Head of Category in executing strategies, leading sourcing projects, and managing supplier relationships.

Responsibilities
- Execute daily procurement activities — RFQ preparation, bid evaluation, PO issuance, and supplier follow up
- Manage supplier communications on order status, delivery, and quality; assist with contract renewals and compliance monitoring
- Collect and analyse spend data, supplier performance, and compliance metrics; prepare regular reports
- Liaise with internal stakeholders to clarify requirements; support Senior Category Specialist and Head of Category
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and safety standards; identify process improvement opportunities
- Utilise digital tools, AI, and automation to improve procurement efficiency and data driven decision making
- Contribute to cost saving initiatives and process optimisation aligned with corporate objectives
- Adhere to QAFCO Integrated Management Systems (Quality, HSE, Environment, Responsible Care, Energy)
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
- 3 5 years of direct and relevant procurement/sourcing experience
- Professional certification in Supply Chain or procurement (CIPS, CPSM or equivalent) is an advantage
- Experience of Qafco or Qatar Energy sister companies
- Experience working in Capital Projects and EPC Contractors
- Good knowledge of transition from Procurement Operation to Category Management
- Valid H2S & T BOSIET trainings

Job Purpose
- Support the Head of Category in executing category strategies, lead sourcing projects, and manage supplier relationships across assigned categories.
- Reporting to the Senior Category Specialist within Commercial Division, Strategic Sourcing department.
Key Accountabilities
- Execute daily procurement activities — RFQ preparation, bid evaluation, PO issuance, and supplier follow up.
- Manage supplier communications on order status, delivery, and quality; assist with contract renewals and compliance monitoring.
- Collect and analyse spend data, supplier performance, and compliance metrics; prepare regular reports for the category team and management.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders to clarify requirements; support the Senior Category Specialist and Head of Category on sourcing and improvement initiatives.
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and safety standards; identify process improvement opportunities.
- Utilise digital tools, AI, and automation to improve procurement efficiency and data driven decision making.
- Contribute to cost saving initiatives and process optimisation aligned with corporate objectives.
- Adhere to QAFCO Integrated Management Systems (Quality, HSE, Environment, Responsible Care, Energy).
Profile
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- Professional certification in Supply Chain or procurement (CIPS, CPSM or equivalent) is an advantage.
- 3–5 years of direct and relevant procurement/sourcing experience.
- Experience of Qafco or Qatar Energy sister companies.
- Experience working in Capital Projects and EPC Contractors.
- Good knowledge to work in a transition from Procurement Operation (tactic) to a Category Management.
- Good interpersonal and organizational skills, good level of computer literacy and proficient in Microsoft Office.
