Job Description
The Carpenter performs carpentry, joinery, furniture repair, and general maintenance throughout the hotel.
The role supports safe, functional, and high-quality guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house facilities, restaurants, and offices.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on hotel carpentry items.
- Repair, install, and maintain wooden doors, frames, windows, cabinets, wardrobes, shelving, furniture, and fixtures.
- Restore furniture and perform minor upholstery repairs when required.
- Repair or replace locks, hinges, door closers, handles, and related hardware.
- Repair wooden structures, partitions, skirting, ceiling panels, and decorative finishes.
- Respond to maintenance requests from guest rooms and public areas.
- Read technical drawings, work orders, and maintenance schedules.
- Keep tools, equipment, and the workshop clean and safe.
- Monitor material usage and report stock requirements.
- Coordinate with Engineering team members during renovations and preventive maintenance.
- Comply with hotel standards, local regulations, and health and safety procedures.
- Record completed work orders and support emergency maintenance requirements.
Qualifications
- At least 2 years of experience as a Carpenter, preferably in a luxury hotel or hospitality environment.
- Good knowledge of woodworking techniques, building maintenance, and carpentry tools.
- Ability to read technical drawings and safely operate power and hand tools.
- Basic knowledge of painting, polishing, and finishing techniques is an advantage.
- Good communication skills in English.
