Business Intelligence Developer

Role Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Gather, analyse, and translate business and reporting requirements into effective BI solutions
• Design and develop executive dashboards, KPI scorecards, operational dashboards, and management reports
• Develop KPI and Data Quality reporting solutions to support performance monitoring and decision-making
• Define and implement approved KPIs, measures, calculations, business rules, dimensions, and reporting logic
• Develop interactive dashboards with appropriate filters, drill-downs, navigation, and analytical views
• Perform data analysis to identify trends, patterns, anomalies, performance gaps, and business insights
• Develop and maintain semantic, logical, and analytical data models for BI reporting
• Work with data engineering teams to ensure the availability, quality, and suitability of data required for BI solutions
• Develop reports and dashboards using enterprise BI and visualization platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, SAP BusinessObjects, or equivalent tools
• Write and optimize SQL queries to extract, transform, validate, and analyse data
• Validate dashboard and report results against source data and approved business requirements
• Perform data profiling and data quality checks to ensure accuracy and consistency of BI outputs

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field
• 4–8 years of experience in Business Intelligence, BI Development, Data Analytics, Reporting, or a related role
• Strong hands-on experience in Power BI, Tableau, SAP BusinessObjects, or equivalent BI platforms
• Strong understanding of KPI development, dashboard design, reporting, data analysis, and business intelligence concepts
• Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational databases
• Experience with data modelling, including logical, physical, dimensional, or semantic models
• Experience translating business requirements into reports, dashboards, KPIs, and analytical solutions
• Experience working with multiple data sources and integrating data for BI reporting
• Strong understanding of data quality, data validation, and data reconciliation
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Preferred Skills

• Advanced Power BI experience, including DAX, Power Query, data modelling, and dashboard development
• Experience with Tableau, SAP BusinessObjects, SAP Analytics Cloud, QlikView, MicroStrategy, or similar BI platforms
• Strong SQL and experience with SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, SAP HANA, or similar databases
• Experience with ETL/data integration technologies such as SSIS, Informatica, Talend, Azure Data Factory, or equivalent
• Knowledge of cloud and modern data platforms such as Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse, Databricks, Snowflake, or equivalent technologies
• Understanding of Data Governance, Metadata Management, Data Quality, and Data Management
• Experience developing executive scorecards and C-level reporting
• Knowledge of advanced analytics, forecasting, trend analysis, cohort analysis, and what-if analysis
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps
