Job Purpose

  • The Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying, developing, and driving new business opportunities to support the company’s growth objectives.
  • This role focuses on building and maintaining strong client relationships, expanding market presence, and ensuring revenue growth through strategic partnerships, market research, and effective sales strategies.

Key responsibilities

  • Secure new accounts and maintain existing portfolio to reach yearly gross margin objectives.
  • Collaborating with all levels of the organization on key opportunities.
  • Conduct client visits and support via provision of market expertise and knowledge.
  • Gathering and distribution of relevant market intelligence to key stakeholders within Sea/Air freight operations and sales organizations.
  • Targeting, hunting and finding valuable new prospects and customers.
  • Follow up the sales leads generated from the network.
  • Quoting new business opportunities and follow up.
  • Issue SOP and implement the onboarded business.
  • Preparing RFI and lead RFQ’s as bid owner.
  • Connecting and working across several departments: operations, sales, tender management, procurement, network agents and finance.
  • Follow up assigned account and update monthly/quarterly quotations and provide day to day commercial support.
  • Put all sales activities/visits in the CRM.

Education and Experience

  • 3 4 years’ experience working in Logistics & Warehouse management in the freight forwarding industry.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or Sales and Marketing.
  • Excellent Computer skills (particularly in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Fluent in English & excellent communication skills & presentation skills.
  • Strong Negotiation Skills and ability to build customer value prepositions.
  • Having commercial mindset, Customer centric mindset & target oriented.
  • Proficient in working with global and local leaders to develop short & long terms goals.
  • Strong team player and ability to work with all functional areas.
  • Ability to influence internal and external customers on issues impacting the business.
  • Strong business acumen and expert in consultative selling techniques and account planning skills.
  • Ability to achieve individual and organizational sales targets.
