Role Overview

EPAM is hiring a Business Analyst for onsite upstream digital transformation projects in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia.

The role supports a global energy client by modernizing workflows, improving efficiency, and enabling data-driven decisions.

The analyst will gather requirements, design workflows, ensure governance compliance, and connect business users with development teams.

Responsibilities

  • Elicit and validate upstream-system requirements with SMEs, engineers, and stakeholders.
  • Translate functional needs into user stories, use cases, and acceptance criteria.
  • Model current and target workflows across multiple integrated systems.
  • Define KPIs, reporting requirements, and data attributes.
  • Prepare business requirements, functional specifications, and process diagrams.
  • Maintain requirements traceability through the delivery lifecycle.
  • Support UAT through scenarios, test cases, and deliverable validation.
  • Manage change requests, risks, security requirements, and governance compliance.

Required Qualifications

  • Five or more years of Business Analyst experience in oil and gas, energy, or large-scale IT transformations.
  • Strong knowledge of upstream processes, permitting, tie-in projects, technology approvals, and facility shutdowns.
  • Familiarity with GIS systems, SAP integrations, and enterprise workflows.
  • Experience with BPMN or UML process modeling and tools such as ARIS.
  • Knowledge of JIRA, Confluence, or Azure DevOps for requirements management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Fluent English communication skills at B2 level or higher.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • A valid SCE certificate in an IT-related discipline is required.

Preferred Skills

  • Exposure to enterprise applications such as Java or Angular stacks and Oracle Database.
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance for large-scale industrial projects.

Working Hours
