C2i is recruiting for Time Out Market, to build the team behind one of Abu Dhabi's most anticipated openings.

We're looking for passionate professionals to join us as we prepare to open Abu Dhabi's first Time Out Market — a vibrant new destination for food, culture and entertainment under one roof!

About The Role

Time Out Market is the division of Time Out that brings our food and cultural experiences to life for our guests, readers and clients.

Our Market Bartenders provide outstanding guest service and product to ensure that each of our guests enjoys a memorable experience with every visit.

What You'Ll Do

  • Take beverage orders from guests and inform them of specials and menu changes
  • Answer questions about our beverage and food offering, venues, menus and pricing
  • Follow given drink recipes when dispensing drinks, and garnish per company standards
  • Check beverage orders before serving to ensure they are correct, properly presented and that special requests have been met
  • Deliver beverage orders promptly and organise service per the appropriate sequence of service
  • Communicate orders through the POS terminal immediately
  • Prepare guest checks through POS terminal functions and process payments by cash, credit card, comps and all other tender types
  • Uphold procedures for the Bartender bank and proper check-out procedures, ensuring accurate accounting of all bar monies
  • Check guest identification accurately
  • Provide service to beverage runners in a timely manner
  • Apply working knowledge of portion control and product identification
  • Ensure proper rotation of all liquor, beer, wine and consumable items
  • Keep the bar top clean and free of dirty glasses, trash and clutter throughout the shift; clean all spills and waste immediately
  • Set up and maintain event and banquet function spaces properly
  • Maintain line of sight and atmosphere control by circulating through your work area throughout the shift
  • Anticipate guest needs and respond to inquiries courteously
  • Respond to guest concerns and resolve complaints with a positive attitude
  • Recognise when guests are becoming or are intoxicated, monitor potentially disruptive guests, and bring them to a manager's attention promptly
  • Refuse further alcohol service to overly intoxicated guests in a courteous, safety-minded manner
  • Comply with all safety and health department procedures and all applicable liquor laws
  • Inform management of any complaint, comment or incident, and report theft, vandalism or violations
  • Record and report equipment failure or safety hazards to a manager immediately
  • Complete nightly, weekly and opening/running/closing duties
  • Appear in uniform for all shifts at the scheduled time
  • Assist all other team members as needed, and complete additional tasks as assigned

What We'Re Looking For

  • Minimum of three to five years' experience in hospitality working in a high-volume bar
  • Knowledge of beer, wine, spirits and cigar brands
  • POS systems experience
  • Experience across hospitality, restaurant, nightclub, bar and lounge operations
  • Strong knowledge of safe alcohol service, beverage presentation and high-volume operations
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical equations
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively and assertively in English, verbally and in writing, with staff, clients and the public
  • Ability to maintain composure, personal integrity and a high level of confidentiality
  • Ability to demonstrate a positive attitude always and listen empathetically
  • Ability to work as a team, stay organised, handle various tasks at one time and make accurate decisions
  • Ability to handle a fast-paced, busy environment, work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • High School Diploma preferred

The Environment

Restaurant environment with varying levels of noise and crowds depending on guest volume.

The role is physically active — extended periods standing, moving at pace, and lifting up to 50 lbs.

Varied shifts including days, nights, weekends and holidays.

A professional, neat and well-groomed appearance is required at all times.
