Lead Bartender Department: Food & Beverage Position Type: Non-Exempt Reports To: Restaurant Supervisor / Restaurant Manager Position Summary: We are seeking an experienced and energetic Lead Bartender to support our Food & Beverage team. The Lead Bartender helps oversee daily bar operations, provides exceptional guest service, maintains inventory and beverage quality, and assists with training and supervising bartending staff. The ideal candidate is knowledgeable about beer, wine, cocktails, and responsible alcohol service, while remaining professional, organized, and composed in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities: *Lead and support bartending staff to ensure excellent service and accurate pours. *Maintain thorough knowledge of beer, wine, cocktails, and food offerings. *Prepare and serve beverages consistently according to established standards. *Provide friendly, attentive, and professional guest service. *Monitor guests for responsible alcohol consumption and verify identification. *Address guest concerns and inappropriate behavior safely and professionally. *Assist guests with safe transportation options when necessary. *Maintain clean, organized, safe, and fully stocked bar areas. *Monitor and rotate liquor, beer, wine, mixers, and other supplies. *Assist with inventory, ordering, and maintaining appropriate liquor costs. *Accurately process orders and payments through the POS system. *Maintain an organized cash drawer and complete end-of-shift cash-outs. *Prepare garnishes and maintain an attractive, functional bar setup. *Clear and reset tables and assist with overall restaurant cleanliness. *Perform other duties as assigned by management. Qualifications: *Must be 21 years of age or older. *Several years of bartending experience preferred. *Current Vermont Department of Liquor Control certification preferred; training may be available. *Extensive knowledge of cocktails, liquor, beer, wine, and food. *Strong customer service and communication skills. *Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure. *Strong leadership and training skills. *Knowledge of responsible alcohol service and allergy procedures. *Familiarity with POS and order-processing systems. *Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays. Hospitality or bartending training is a plus. Physical & Work Environment This is a fast-paced, high-energy environment with frequent standing, walking, reaching, lifting, and handling of supplies. The position may require lifting and moving heavy items, including 100+ pounds. As a winter resort position, employees may work in a variety of locations, including multi-level buildings, steep stairways, and outdoor or semi-remote areas. Some locations may require travel by chairlift, skis, or snowboard. Employees should be prepared to work in cold, wet, sunny, frozen, sloped, and slippery conditions and must wear appropriate footwear and clothing. Schedules and hours vary based on business needs, with an emphasis on weekends and holidays.
