Role Overview

Beverage Preparation

• Prepare espresso, brewed, iced, specialty, seasonal, tea, matcha, Turkish, and Arabic coffee beverages.
• Dial in espresso by adjusting grind, dose, yield, and shot time.
• Texture dairy and alternative milks and produce clean latte art.
• Remember regulars' preferences and accommodate dietary requests.

Machines and Equipment

• Operate, clean, and calibrate commercial espresso machines and grinders.
• Perform routine maintenance such as backflushing group heads and cleaning steam wands, baskets, and shower screens.
• Troubleshoot basic equipment issues and coordinate technician servicing for complex repairs.
• Log machine and grinder settings, cleaning schedules, and maintenance routines.

Suppliers and Inventory

• Manage coffee, milk, syrups, disposables, and other supplies using FIFO rotation and wastage records.
• Monitor stock, report shortages, place orders, coordinate deliveries, and avoid stock-outs.
• Check deliveries for quality and freshness and maintain relationships with roasters and vendors.
• Suggest cost-effective supplier alternatives and new products when relevant.

Hygiene and Service

• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized coffee bar in accordance with food safety and hygiene regulations.
• Complete daily opening and closing procedures.
• Welcome employees and guests, explain menu items, and make recommendations.
• Support meetings, client visits, and company gatherings with coffee service.

Requirements

• At least two to three years of barista experience in a specialty coffee shop or similar environment.
• Independent commercial espresso machine and grinder operation, including calibration and daily maintenance.
• Hands-on stock management and direct supplier experience.
• Full knowledge of the listed espresso and non-coffee beverage menu.
• English is required; Arabic is a plus.
• Food handling or hygiene certification is an advantage.
• SCA certification or barista training is a plus.
• Positive, presentable, and service-minded approach.
• High school or equivalent education is preferred.

Pay

• AED 2,500 to AED 3,500 per month.
