The Specialty Coffee Barista prepares exceptional coffee beverages, provides customer service, and maintains quality and cleanliness standards in the coffee bar.
The role suits someone with a strong understanding of specialty coffee and a commitment to creating a memorable customer experience.
Responsibilities
- Prepare espresso-based drinks, pour-over coffee, cold brew, and other specialty coffee beverages using proper techniques and equipment.
- Keep the coffee bar clean and organized, ensure equipment is working, and maintain stocked supplies.
- Monitor the freshness and quality of coffee beans, milk, and other ingredients.
- Stay current with coffee trends and techniques and expand specialty coffee knowledge.
- Work with other baristas and coffee bar staff to support smooth, efficient service.
Requirements
- Previous barista experience is preferred but not required.
- Strong brewing skills, including espresso extraction, milk steaming, and latte art.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure under pressure.
- Understanding of coffee origins, roast levels, brewing methods, and flavor profiles.
- Knowledge of coffee equipment maintenance and cleaning procedures.
