About the Role
Fairmont The Palm is hiring an AV Technician to maintain and operate audiovisual equipment for events and daily operations. The role requires previous AV experience, technical skills in electrical and general maintenance, and a customer-focused attitude.

Responsibilities
- Consistently offer professional, engaging and friendly service.
- Maintain buildings, performing minor and routine checks on AV system and other related maintenance activities.
- Banqueting hall AV equipment should be maintained and stored properly and to be ready to use all the time.
- Inspect facilities and equipment for conformance with operational standards.
- Arrange the systems well in advance before the functions and place them back once the event is over in good working condition.
- Ensure all the BGM systems are working normally & PPM to be done as per schedule.
- Schedule repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools and equipment to ensure continuous operations.
- Complete preventative maintenance program items in coordination with plan.
- Order materials relating to AV system and follow up on timely basis.
- Organize respective areas related to engineering.
- Follow department policies, procedures and service standards.
- Follow all safety procedures.
Requirements
- Previous experience as an AV Technician is an asset
- Highly responsible and reliable
- Previous experience with painting, plumbing, electrical wiring and other related experience is an asset
- Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as a part of a team with minimal supervision
- Enthusiastic and dependable
- Active listening skills
- Proficient in the English language (verbal & written), second language is an asset

Job Description

- Arranging the systems well in advance before the functions and should place them back once the event is over in good working condition.
- To ensure all the BGM systems are working normally & PPM to be done as per schedule.
- Schedule repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools and equipment to ensure continuous operations and guest and owner satisfaction.
- Complete preventative maintenance program items in coordination with plan.
- Ordering of materials relating to AV system and followed up on timely basis.
- Organizing respective areas related to engineering.
- Follow department policies, procedures and service standards.
- Follow all safety procedures.
Additional Responsibilities
- Ensure Master card/Key/mobile/vacuum machine/Ladder sign in out.
- Identifies upgrading needs for all the AV systems, tools and equipment.
- Meeting rooms & events request attending.
- Proactively keep prepared for any event and take all detail make sure we have all equipment’s.
- Attend to all electrical and general trade works.
- Provide assistance for all our door banquet events.
- Coordinate with IT for any software and network related issues in AV system.
- RSM request attending.
- Check the PPM check list and carry out the PPM as per schedule for all electrical equipment.
- While doing the PPM use the PPE.
- Responding immediately for any emergency request for fire alarm, water flooding, gas alarm etc.
- Immediately notify the Shift Engineer on the duty in case of any malfunction related to electrical lines, panels or controls.
Further Responsibilities
- Assisting in all the IT related issues as and when required.
- Ensure the electrical rooms, AV control rooms are kept clean and orderly all the time.
- Energy conservation to monitor.
- Daily Pending works to be followed up without fail.
- Ensure AV system PPM completed as per the schedule plan.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as an AV Technician is an asset.
- Highly responsible and reliable.
- Previous experience with painting, plumbing, electrical wiring and other related experience is an asset.
